Today here is something about adverbs for you. There are so many kinds of adverbs. Some may think that an adverb is that word which describes HOW an action is done and you are right, these kinds of adverbs are adverbs of MANNER - ex. He walks SLOWLY ('slowly' is an adverb describing the way he walks). Adverbs however do not only describe HOW but may also quantify somehow the adverb of manner. These are called adverbs of DEGREE - ex. He walks VERY slowly ('very' is an adverb of degree). Adverbs of degree can also quantify adjectives - ex. She was EXTREMELY exhausted. ('extremely' describes the adjective 'exhausted') There are also what we refer to as adverbs of FREQUENCY...but more about this in a later post!

Oh my, prepositions!...those little words which may sometimes get so confusing. Today, let's understand the difference between 'along' and 'through'.
'Along' is used to refer to movement along a straight line of some sort (a path, a road).
Example: The girl walked along the path in the garden.
'Through' is used to refer to movement within a three dimensional space (a tunnel, a crowd) and often conveys the idea of moving from one end to the other of such a space.
Example: We drove through the dark tunnel.
