"I signed your birth certificate, you will sign my death certificate. I chose your first outfit, you will choose my last. I felt your first breath, you will feel my last. And when that day comes, hope you remember: Before you ever knew my name, I knew yours. Before you ever loved me, I loved you. And you have been the greatest gift God has ever given me."
Read those words again and let them land in your heart. In martial arts, we learn that time is the ultimate opponent, it doesn't wait, it doesn't pause, and it moves faster than we ever expect. One day we are guiding someone’s first steps on the DoJang floor, showing them how to stand, how to breathe, and how to walk with confidence. The next, the years have shifted, and the student becomes the keeper of the legacy. It is a quiet, powerful reminder that our journey here is finite. So often we get caught up in the noise of daily life and work, putting off the things that truly light our fire, or delaying the pursuit of mastery because we think there’s always another round. But tomorrow is never guaranteed. Don't wait for the "right time" to pursue your passion, to train with purpose, or to step onto the path you know you belong on. Honor the time you have right now. Live intentionally, pour your heart into what you love, and make every single moment in and out of the DoJang count. What is one step you’ve been holding back from taking, and what's stopping you from taking it today? (Photo of Logan and Ella aged 3 and 9🥰)
