The circular economy has been defined as a process whereby growth is decoupled from the consumption of scarce resources. Materials used in the production of goods are kept in the cycle for as long as possible and then they are cycled back into the economy through repurposing. This means that the production cycle designs waste out almost entirely. In order to increase the uptake of circular practices across the economy and the environmental benefits to be fully realised, there needs to be a training of the next generation of entrepreneurs in circular business models and practices so that there is a fundamental understanding of the opportunities available to those who use engage with the circular economy.
Enhancing entrepreneurship amongst young people with a focus on circular economy cuts across two of the new European Commission Presidents priorities, building a green future for Europe, and creating a strong economic base. It will also be key in reducing the high levels of unemployment among the European youth.
The aim of TRAIN-CE-FOOD is to empower young people to make use of entrepreneurship and cooperative skill-sets and mindsets, which will enable them to create more efficient cooperative solutions and business models in the field of Circular Economy (CE) and food supply chains.

Today, we are seeing the growing number of formal and informal methods of learning which is being brought forward due to situational needs and the innovation of the education sector. It is important, therefore that the sector explores the opportunities available in blended learning environments - facilitating the learning of different age groups and promoting a life-long learning approach.
The ability to tailor the environment to the needs of the student promotes functional and efficient learning whilst also encouraging the interests and motivation of students to participate throughout life.
SmartArt is a cutting-edge project which aims to design a learning environment and provide art-history education in the form of self-regulated learning.
To enhance the impact of the project, it will establish and distribute methodological guidelines for the design of personalised and self-regulated learning environments.
The project is centred around the active participation of students, teachers, and experts.

SEAFOREST LIFE is a European LIFE project, for the conservation of seagrass meadows of the Mediterranean, in order to help fighting climate change.
Sea meadows have the unique capacity to produce oxygen and capture carbon dioxide in the blades, therefore, it is an ecosystem of vital importance in the battle against climate change. Despite global protection we are witnessing the loss of sea meadow habitat, already 29% of the sea meadows in the world have disappeared due to human activity.
SEAFOREST LIFE creates concrete actions for the conservation of sea meadows, aiming to reduce their degradation which continues unabated. The project will help parks to quantify the carbon deposits in their sea meadows and identify methods of reducing these through the management of docks.
To resolve the problem of the anchoring of boats inside the sea meadow, we are creating a plan to manage the traffic in the most critical zones. We will substitute non-functional docking areas with models which are more effective and sustainable and also support docking outside of the sea meadows. These actions will allow these habitats to recuperate and regrow where they were once in danger of dying out.
The project will be carried out in two Italian regions, and target the protected areas of these regions. The national parks of Cilento e Vallo di Diano in Campania, Asinara and the Arcipelago di La Maddalena in Sardegna. In the second phase, the model will be exported to Malta. The exportation of the model aims to show the replicability of the project and its impacts across different environments.
