Bringing together museum professionals, educators, cultural practitioners, and community leaders, the seminar will feature a keynote presentation, interactive showcases, and hands-on workshops centred on people-focused museum practice.

🧵 Meet our final workshop host: Raffaella Zammit

Artist, researcher, and Executive Director of the Gabriel Caruana Foundation, Raffaella brings together social practice, heritage, and community engagement in her workshop Bridging Generations: Fostering Connection Through Shared Heritage.

How can museums create meaningful connections across generations? This workshop explores how storytelling, shared memories, cultural identity, and collaborative learning can help museums become spaces where people of all ages connect and contribute to the continuation of intangible heritage.

Highlighting our institutional members' events to celebrate International Museum Day 2026!

The Mdina Cathedral Museum - Mdina Metropolitan Chapter is organising an Open Day with FREE entrance on Saturday 16 May.

Enjoy free entry and explore the museum’s highlights, from sacred art and historic collections to behind-the-scenes spaces in the atmospheric basement. Discover stories of Mdina’s Roman past and the city’s enduring role in Maltese culture, with special displays and family-friendly moments throughout the day. This Open Day also sets the stage for International Museum Day on 18 May—a reminder of how museums connect communities, inspire curiosity, and safeguard memory.
