The SpLD Service is pleased to share that earlier this month Ms Pamela delivered a professional training session at Kalkara Primary School focusing on the work of the SpLD Service, key information about dyslexia, and the Dyslexia Friendly Schools Initiative (DFSI). 💡

Educators participated in an interactive online quiz 📱and a dyslexia simulation activity designed to deepen their understanding, increase awareness, and enhance classroom practices to better support learners with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.

The SpLD Service thanks the school leadership team and staff of Kalkara Primary School for their active engagement and commitment towards creating a more inclusive and dyslexia-friendly learning environment. 🎒

And what is your dyslexic superpower?

On Monday 4th May, a training session was held with LSEs at St. Theresa Middle School. The participants shared good practices they are implementing with the learners they are working with. Futhermore, LSEs amended handouts they were using to make them more dyslexia friendly. This included choosing appropriate font and font size, adding pictures and chunking text by adding text boxes.

It was a fruitful session where LSEs were given the opportunity to share their concerns and to strategies which have been successful.
