Feeling blessed for 37yrs in the social work profession and counting
It is with great pleasure that every month I meet up with new members of the local widows/ers group known as Minus 1and listen to what happened to them and introduce them to the GRM
To day I kept my annual appointment with the Pastoral Formation Institute. During a morning Seminar I introduced the participants doing a Chaplaincy Course to the Grief Recoverd Method. We discussed the losses that children and teens are experiencing. Losses beyond those of a family member or relative.
Once again yesterday I had a morning with a group of fourteen primary and secondary school teachers who are participating in the Pastoral Formation Institute Course. Theme of morning training was Child and Adolescent Bereavement.
Glad that today I spent a day familiarising the Minus 1 bereavement support group committee members with the Grief Recovery Method.
Yesterday I introduced GRM to an audience made up of Maltese Catholic Schools priests teachers and Learning Support Assistants. They found the session quite interesting and innovative as I highlighted some of the 43 losses that their students and themselves have or are experiencing currently. A participant shared how devasted she feels following the su***de of one of her students. The minute we make our selves available to these deeply hurt persons that is the minute when we contribute to their initial recovery journey assuring them that grief is normal and natural.

Last week I was on air on RTK radio where I spoke about children returning back to school following a loss during their three months school holidays.
Just returned from the monthly radio slot on RTK radio on The Loss of a Father as experienced by the Son which am happy to say was well recieved by the listeners. Look forward to the next month's program.
May 24th Caritas Malta staff requested to familiarise themselves with the Grief Recovery Method as a follow up of a radio program on the same subject. Am always willing to share.
This evening, Zejtun Parish volunteers, will be introduced to the Grief Recovery Method look forward to it all.
