As the World Cup kicks-off this evening, today we bid farewell to our participants and celebrated the end of the 16th cycle of our programme. 🎉 A big well done to all! ⚽️ 📚 🏆 🙌🏻😃
A big thank you goes to the Malta Football Association - 1900 for their collaboration in organizing this event.

Wasalna fl-aħħar ukoll mat-tfal ta' Birżebbuġa. Għal din l-aħħar sessjoni t-tfal kienu mimlija enerġija. Biex nirrevedu xi affarijiet li għamilna matul dawn l-għaxar sessjonijiet għamina attività fejn kelna nikreaw qoxra ta' ktieb u ħarsetta. It-tfal użaw l-inventiva u l-kreattività tagħhom biex jikkreaw xogħol oriġinali u fl-istess ħin jqajjem il-kurżita. Qsamna xogħolna ma' sħabna u vvutajna. Biex ngħalqu għamilna kwiżż tal-aħħar fi gruppi. Mimlija enerġija ħriġna barra biex nikkompetu b'mod ġenwin ukoll fuq il-grawnd flimkien ma' kowċ Joseph Grech. Logħba interessanti u mimlija enerġija u ħeġġa. Prosit lkoll!

As the saying goes, ‘All good things come to an end!’ Today we ended our programme with our energetic team from Sannat primary. We spoke about emotions and we saw how we experience these emotions both with readers and in our daily life. We played a game of charades and we had a read aloud from the book Goal! What a rollercoaster of emotions that book had!

Viċin l-aħħar, illum ltqajna mat-tfal ta' Birżebbuġa għad-9 sessjoni. Ħdimna fuq it-tema tal-poeżija billi ħarisna lejn il-forma u l-karatteristiċi li jagħmlu poeżija. Qrajna il-poeżija 'Xutt tal-Babaw' tkellimna fuq x'qed tikkomunika l-poeżija, fuq il-metafori kif ukoll ir-rima. Lagħbna logħba ta' memorja u rima u spiċċajna billi kreajna poeżija akrostika li qrajna quddiem sħabna. Ħriġna ħerqanin barra, kuntenti u akkaniti, flimkien ma' kowċ Joseph Grech. Il-logħba kienet taħraq mimlija enerġija fejn kulħadd lagħab b'qalbu kollha u għamel l-aħjar possibbli. Narawkhom nhar il-ġimgħa għall-aħħar sessjoni!

Today’s penultimate session with our Sannat team was about writing a player profile. What do these profiles include and what information can they give us? Why do we use a player profile and how do we write them? We figured out our mystery player, found some information about him and created our own profiles.
Coach Michael today targeted our shooting and dribbling skills. We ended with a well played match which ended with a 5-4 win in favour of the maroons.

All good things come to an end, goes the old adage. And this is certainly true for us!

After ten sessions of our reading and football journey this afternoon we concluded the Programme with the Gzira team.

For our last session we revised note taking as an essential writing skill in creating a character profile. We did so through found objects in a sports bag. Our character is a tall and muscular footballer who plays for Malta and enjoys reading and listening to football anthems. He is committed to keeping himself on top form and leads a healthy lifestyle. We then paired up to create different characters, which we shared with the rest of the team.

We finished off with a quiz between two teams about topics we dealt with in our Programme.

Soon it was time for our last match under Coach Saviour's guidance. We gave it our all and both sides found the net a few times.

We will now cherish the fun time we had reading, writing and working together. Most of all we have the fondest memories of playing football with our classmates.

Today was the final day with the group at Marsaxlokk! We finished things off with a Kahoot quiz, going over everything we have done throughout the sessions, as well as some fun football trivia which fueled some of our discussion! We capped things off with a football match and penalties, which remained close and exciting all the way until the end!
