Hello, my name is Lkhamsuren Altangerel, and I am a fully blind English teacher based in Mongolia. I’m honored to share that I’ve been admitted to both Harvard and Stanford Universities for graduate studies. After thoughtful consideration, I’ve chosen to pursue a Master’s in International Education Policy Analysis at Stanford, where I’ll focus on inclusive and special education—my lifelong passion.
I grew up in the Mongolian countryside and later transferred to a school for the blind, where I discovered my calling in inclusive education. Despite many challenges, I graduated from Mongolia International University in 2022 and have since dedicated myself to supporting children and youth with disabilities. For example, I have been running the "English for the Visually Impaired" project, collaborating with Talk Talk English language center since 2022, providing free, accessible English lessons to visually impaired students. In 2023, I also established an NGO dedicated to advocating for and improving educational opportunities for children with disabilities.
My goal is to transform inclusive education in Mongolia and beyond. While I’ve received a Dean’s Fellowship from Stanford, I still need to raise $100,000 to cover the remaining costs of my studies, including tuition, living expenses, and health insurance.
Any support you can offer—big or small—will help make this dream a reality. Please consider donating through my GoFundMe page. Thank you for being part of this journey and helping create a more inclusive future.
