We are pleased to introduce Dr. Christopher Hastings as the Plenary Speaker of the 2nd National Conference and the 1st International ER Conference.

Dr. Christopher Hastings is Assistant Professor of English at Alfaisal University. He has spent over two decades teaching and training English teachers across the globe, with posts in Colombia, Brazil, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Russia, and China. A former U.S. State Department Regional English Language Officer, he brings extensive experience in intercultural education and curriculum development. His research explores the intersection of multilingual education, motivation in language learning, and the integration of technology in language instruction, contributing to Alfaisal University’s mission and supporting Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of educational excellence and technological innovation.

We are pleased to introduce our next featured speaker, Seo Gyong Lee, the Head of R&D at the Korea Reading Specialist Association (KRSA), who will be joining the 2nd National Conference and the 1st International ER Conference.

Seo Gyong Lee is the current head of R&D at Korea Reading Specialist Association (KRSA). She has 15 years of experience in language education, ranging from teaching to content and curriculum development as a research director. With qualifications in TESOL, Korean language teaching, and DELF, she brings a multilingual perspective to instructional design. Her session draws on her integrated expertise to offer new insights into reading-based English education.

17th National TEFL/ 13th Mongolia TESOL International Conference was a successful event that brought together 230 English language educators from Mongolia and featured speakers from all around Russia, Malaysia, the USA, Nepal and South Korea.

Key takeaways from the 3-day conference:
1. Involve your learners when creating your lesson contents. If the content is not what they are interested in, it will be hard to keep them motivated.
2. Always give your students choices as to what they want to learn more about. GenZ students like choices. Their choices lead them to become responsible learners.
3. Instill curiosity in your learners. Curious learners ask questions and try to find creative solutions to complex problems.
