RCA Legacy Expedition 2025: Geology Team 🪨🔨
According to researchers C.P. Berkey and F.K. Morris (1927, 1936), the region looked very different more than 70 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous. At that time, it likely consisted of ancient sand dunes with small lakes and ponds scattered between them. Dinosaurs are believed to have lived in herds along these water sources, nesting and reproducing in what was a relatively favorable ecosystem.
During our fieldwork, we followed a survey route and collected additional samples to better understand the sediment layers that contain dinosaur fossils, as well as the composition and characteristics of these deposits.

Last early winter, we organized a nomadic migration journey and spent a month in Mongolia, living with nomadic herder families and experiencing their way of life as one of their own. Today, a special package arrived in the mail—a heartfelt gift for our herder families. Just in time for Lunar New Year! Thank you, Noble, for this wonderful gesture 🙏
