Today, I want to explain a very common phrase: "By chance." 🤗

What does "By chance" mean?

🎯 We use this phrase when something happens accidentally or without a plan. It describes a situation that is unexpected or happens because of luck, rather than because you organized it.👌

How do you use it?🤷

Check out these examples to see how it fits into a sentence.🥰👇

Eg. 1: I met an old friend by chance at the supermarket.
(This means I didn't plan to see her; we just happened to be at the same place at the same time.)

Eg. 2: Do you have a pen I could borrow, by chance?
(In this case, it’s a way to be extra polite. It’s like saying, "I'm not sure if you have one, but if you do, may I borrow it?")

Ever been so shocked that your jaw actually dropped and you forgot how to speak?
That’s being flabbergasted.😱😱

It’s not just being "surprised" (like finding a $5 bill in your pocket). It’s being utterly stunned or blown away (like finding out your cat has been leading a double life as a jazz pianist😁).
