Akyab Institute

Our Story

The Akyab Institute is a new program of August 2017, and provides 12 months immersive experiences – 9 months in class and 3 months internship. Akyab Institute works to promote our students’ ability to take more of an initiative in the positive development of their communities. We will provide them skills in English, Leadership, Life skills through various Social Science topics.

Students gain profound understanding of: human rights, Peace and Conflict, Global Issue, Gender, citizenship, world politics, Democracy, and Independence Study Project, research methodology. Students will also have a space to grow: prowess of critical thinking, self confidence, team building and maturity by learning together and sharing across differences.

It is operated in Sittwe, and the youth from all area of Arakan state and Southern Chin State are selected and offered with safe and effervescent study environment, Stipend and accommodation.
