Pantsun Learning Center – Namtau Village, Kyukoke Pansai Township, Northern Shan State
Pantsun Learning Center is inviting motivated, committed, and community-minded educators to apply for a full-time GED Teaching Position for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful educational mission in a rural, underserved region by helping learners prepare for the internationally recognized GED (General Educational Development) exams.
We are looking for teachers who are passionate about uplifting lives through education and who are ready to embrace the challenge of teaching in a remote but rewarding environment.
✅ Position Overview
• Job Title: GED Teacher
• Subjects Taught: GED Core Subjects (Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies)
• Location: Namtau Village, Kyukoke Pansai Township, Northern Shan State, Myanmar
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Residential
• Contract Length: Minimum 1-year commitment (renewable based on performance)
• Position – (1 male), (1 female)
💼 Key Responsibilities
• Deliver structured and engaging GED lessons aligned with testing standards
• Prepare students for GED examinations through a variety of teaching methods and assessments
• Create a positive and respectful classroom culture suitable for adult and youth learners
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback and support
• Collaborate with local staff and follow all school procedures and guidelines
• Participate in school events, teacher meetings, and trainings
💰 Compensation & Benefits
• Monthly Salary: 400,000 Kyats
• Accommodation: Provided by the school (shared or individual housing depending on availability)
• Electricity Bills: 50% covered by the school, 50% by the teacher
• Travel Support: The school will cover one round-trip travel expense (either from home to school or back, once during the contract period)
• Uniforms: All official school uniforms will be provided
• Food: school will provide rice for the teachers for the full academic year
• Professional Development: Access to teacher training and school-led workshops
• Kitchen utensils and bedding accessories: Will be provided by Pantsun Learning Center.
🏠 Living Arrangements & Expectations
• Teachers residing in school-provided housing are expected to abide by the school’s housing rules and general code of conduct.
• As the school is located in a remote, rural village, candidates should be prepared for limited access to urban conveniences and be open to community-focused living.
👤 Ideal Candidate Profile
We encourage applications from individuals who possess the following:
• A strong belief in the transformative power of education
• Experience in teaching or tutoring, especially in secondary or adult education (GED experience is a plus)
• Patience, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity
• Willingness to serve in a rural or underserved area
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Fluency in English (Burmese or local language is a plus but not required)
