We’ve been busy at BIA! 🍎🌍📚

Our Early Learning Center recently completed its third theme of the year: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Students explored environmental awareness through hands-on activities while developing literacy, math, science, and socio-emotional skills. Using recyclable materials collected from home, they created wonderful projects full of creativity and purpose.

Our Grades 2–8 students also organized a successful bake sale fundraiser with support from teachers, families, and the school community. Together, we raised nearly $600 plus many generous donations for an orphanage in Bamako. Students had the meaningful opportunity to visit, play, and connect with the children there.

At BIA, learning goes beyond academics. We believe in giving students real-life experiences that help them grow as compassionate, creative, and responsible global citizens.

Nous avons été très occupés à BIA! 🍎🌍📚

Notre Centre de la Petite Enfance a récemment terminé son troisième thème de l’année : Réduire, Réutiliser et Recycler. À travers des activités pratiques, les élèves ont développé leur sensibilisation à l’environnement tout en renforçant leurs compétences en littératie, mathématiques, sciences et développement socio-émotionnel. En utilisant des matériaux recyclables collectés à la maison, ils ont réalisé de magnifiques projets pleins de créativité et de sens.

Les élèves des Grades 2 à 8 ont également organisé une vente de pâtisseries avec le soutien des enseignants, des familles et de toute la communauté scolaire. Ensemble, nous avons récolté près de 600 $, ainsi que de nombreux dons, au profit d’un orphelinat de Bamako. Les élèves ont eu l’occasion de visiter l’orphelinat, de jouer et de partager de beaux moments avec les enfants.

À BIA, l’apprentissage va au-delà des matières académiques. Nous croyons qu’il est important d’offrir aux élèves des expériences concrètes qui les aident à devenir des citoyens du monde bienveillants, créatifs et responsables.

We’ve Been Busy 😀📚

From anti-bullying activities and Valentine murals to field trips, career exploration, and outdoor sports under the Bamako sun; our students across all grade levels have been learning, creating, and growing together every day. 🫶🏾

Our preschoolers have been busy mixing, baking, counting, tasting, talking, and most importantly, enjoying every moment! BIA preschool program makes learning come alive through hands-on activities and real-life experiences, and Bread Study is always a crowd favourite (for obvious, delicious reasons 🍞).

Our early learners discover where different types of bread and baked goods come from, and we make them right here in the school kitchen and turn them into learning tools. We practice maths, counting cookies, build literacy, discussing and reading bread stories, and grow socially by visiting bakeries and by learning to share at our picnics, as you see in these pictures🧺
