From NOVA to Brown: Elena Antovski Turns Two Passions into One Extraordinary Path
Passionate about both biomedical engineering and acting, Elena was drawn to Brown’s Open Curriculum, which will allow her to pursue her interests across disciplines while shaping a learning journey that reflects her unique goals and aspirations.
Elena’s achievement reflects the power of curiosity, commitment, and the confidence to follow more than one path. We are proud of all she has accomplished and excited to see the impact she will make in the years ahead.
Congratulations, Elena. Your NOVA community is cheering you on every step of the way.

As we celebrated the successful completion of another CEESA (Central and Eastern European School Association) season, we recognized the students who proudly represented NOVA across a wide range of athletic and academic competitions.🏆
Competing within CEESA is much more than results. Through sports, debate, robotics, mathematics, and collaborative problem-solving, students learn the values of sportsmanship, respect, resilience, and global citizenship. They build character through discipline, teamwork, commitment, and the courage to challenge themselves in new environments.
This year, our students competed in soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, swimming, cross country, robotics, Speech and Debate, Knowledge Bowl, Math Counts, and mathematics competitions, representing NOVA with integrity, determination, and pride.
Along the way, they formed lasting friendships, learned from peers across the region, celebrated successes, overcame challenges, and demonstrated what it means to be part of a supportive and inclusive international community.
🌟Whether your interests are in athletics, academics, technology, public speaking, or problem-solving, there is a place for you. Take the opportunity to challenge yourself, develop new skills, and become part of an experience that extends far beyond competition.

The Secondary School gathered for its final assembly of the school year, a meaningful opportunity to recognize student achievement, growth, service, leadership, and citizenship across Grades 6-11.⭐
Students were awarded U.S. Gold and Silver Seal Certificates in recognition of their academic accomplishments and commitment to the broader community. The American Citizenship Award honored students whose leadership, integrity, and strength of character have made a positive impact on those around them.
The assembly also celebrated the conclusion of this year's Houses Competition, with the White House earning top honors through dedication, participation, and teamwork throughout the year. Congratulations to all House members for their contributions and school spirit.
In addition, we proudly recognized students who participated in the literary challenge held in honor of our late colleague, Tihomir Jancovski. Through Original Poetry, Literary Translation, and Cross-Cultural Voice, students demonstrated creativity, reflection, and the power of language to connect ideas, cultures, and people.
Surrounded by classmates and teachers, students celebrated not only their accomplishments, but also the values, relationships, and sense of community that make NOVA such a special place to learn and grow.

Our PreK 3 and PreK 4 students recently welcomed traffic police officers for a special visit focused on traffic safety, responsible behavior, and the importance of following traffic rules.🚓
Through engaging discussions and demonstrations, students learned how to stay safe as pedestrians, recognize important traffic signals, and make responsible choices when navigating their community.
The highlight of the visit was the opportunity to explore a police car up close and, of course, hear the sirens in action, an exciting moment that brought learning to life for our youngest learners.
We are grateful to the traffic police officers for sharing their time, expertise, and important life lessons with our students. Experiences like these help children build understanding, confidence, and awareness that extends beyond the classroom.
