The Lycée Privé Chrysalide (Chrysalis School) is located in the town of Ivato, just outside Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo. The school opened in September 2006 with the mission to educate a new generation of open-minded young people who love reading.

During a recent visit with family in Portland, Oregon, former Chrysalis School student Lango visited a couple of classrooms to meet students and tell them about Madagascar and the Chrysalis School. Fourth graders at Le Monde French immersion school wondered whether people in Madagascar use pots to cook their food, whether Madagascar has a president and how much money Malagasy parents earn, and French students at Lincoln High School asked questions about women's rights and the Malagasy education system.
