🌍 Today marks a significant milestone for Grapevine Christian School Ampitatafika : we are officially the FIRST OPERATING PARTNER of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in Madagascar. 🇲🇬🇬🇧

This is more than a programme for our students. It is an opportunity to equip them with leadership, resilience, service, independence and a spirit of adventure — qualities that will help shape the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Through this partnership, GCS will operate the Award under the oversight of the National Award Operator for Madagascar, ensuring that the programme is delivered in accordance with the standards and principles of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and the NAO.

Our students will have access to one of the world’s most prestigious youth development programmes, opening doors to international opportunities, global networks and experiences that will broaden their horizons and prepare them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

But our vision goes beyond GCS.

As the first Operating Partner in Madagascar, GCS will also help make the Award accessible to Malagasy young people, bringing its transformative opportunities to a wider generation and playing a part in shaping the future leaders of our country.

We believe that education is not simply about preparing young people for a career. It is about equipping them to lead, serve, make a difference and become agents of positive change in our society.

🤝 PRIOR VISIT – THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S INTERNATIONAL AWARD

We were delighted to welcome Mr Tovonanahary Rasolofoharivelo, Vice Chair of the Board and Mr Fitahiana Rasendrahasina, Programme Manager from The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award for a preliminary visit as part of Grapevine Christian School’s application to deliver the award.

🌍 This partnership would enable our students to participate in the world’s most prestigious youth development programme, while also extending its impact to the wider community through Grapevine.

💚 We are excited about this opportunity to inspire a new generation of servant leaders, equipping young people with the character, resilience, and heart to serve others and make a lasting difference.

🌿 Learning by Serving, Leading by Giving 🤝📚

At Grapevine Christian School, we believe that entrepreneurship is about creating solutions that transform lives.

Our learners led a real-world service project by:
✅ assessing the needs of Paradisakely - Shalom Land School,
✅ preparing a project budget,
✅ organising fundraising events and creating sustainable sources of income,
✅ and inviting the wider Grapevine community to join them in making a lasting impact.

Thanks to this collective effort, two traditional falafa learning shelters have been built, providing the children of Paradisakely with a cool, shaded environment in which to study and flourish. 🌿🏡
The initiative also enabled the purchase of school textbooks from Baliaka Education, equipping Paradisakely’s pupils with valuable educational resources to help them reach their full potential. 📖✨

This is education in action—developing compassionate young leaders who combine faith, service and entrepreneurial thinking to make a meaningful difference.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who made this project possible. Your generosity and support have made a real difference. 💚🙏
