What is "Learning to Read"
VS
"Reading to learn" ?

Learning to read is a set of fundamental skills where basic reading such as sounding, wording and mastery of sight words are developed in a specific order.
These skills are often developed around kinder to Grade 3.
With expected word mastery by Grade 4.

A transitional phase which happens simultaneously is the "reading to learn".
Reading to learn is the "comprehending for knowledge" phase.
This is the crucial stage of developing understanding and feelings as one reads.

Current, Filipino children are facing reading and comprehension challenges with poor performances even in higher grade levels.
Without the proper intervention, and home-based follow ups, this growing trend will only rise among many Filipino children in the coming years.


..so what can we do to address these problems?

Research indicates that a consistent daily 15-minute math practice can boost math performance by 10 to 12%, raising it above average compared to those who don’t practice regularly

By applying effective techniques and creating a supportive learning environment, combined with regular practice, dedication, and encouragement, every child can quickly master both arithmetic and reading skills.

Visual counting with correspondence one-to-one is one of the most effective ways on teaching number comparison.

In this activity, our 5 year old and 0 month student stacks blocks by 3s to visualize the "more" and the "less" number.

With repeated exercises and understanding, math problems become more and more easier to tackle, making complex problem solving, effortless to solve.
