Many people feel conflicted between their spiritual yearnings and their social needs. But in truth, social life and spiritual life are inextricably connected: our social and spiritual longings are fulfilled TOGETHER.
We express our spirituality AND our humanity most fully when we love. Granted, loving humanly and Divinely -- personally yet unselfishly -- requires spiritual muscle. But, spiritual muscle develops through social exercise. Relationship constitutes the perfect context in which to develop, test, and stabilize expanded consciousness -- even to the point of realizing spiritual Unity.
