🔹 took part in the proceedings of the first session of the International Spring Academy of Media and Information Literacy Diplomacy, organized by Moulay Ismail University in partnership with the UNESCO University Network for Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue, under the theme: “Preserving Linguistic, Cultural and Media Diversity in the Digital Age.”

🔹 Representing at the event, held on 12–13 May 2026, Dr. Zaid Abu Shama’a, expert at the Organization’s Education Sector, delivered a presentation on ICESCO’s vision regarding the rapid digital transformations driven by artificial intelligence, as well as the challenges posed by misinformation and information disorder.

🔹 He stressed that media and information literacy has become an issue of cultural and cognitive security, underscoring the importance of taking into account the cultural, social and educational specificities of Member States in advancing this field.

The Education Sector at ICESCO participated in the 12th International Symposium on Contemporary Issues of Media and Information Literacy, held virtually on December 29, 2025, under the theme: “Building Partnerships to Enhance Media and Information Literacy in the Arab World.”

Dr. Zaid Abu Shama, an expert in the education sector, represented the organization at the symposium. He presented ’s vision for media and information literacy and highlighted its most prominent initiatives and future plans in this field, emphasizing that media literacy is a fundamental approach to building digital awareness and fostering critical thinking.
