Inspired by Marrakech

When creatives in the house style the pool .. temperature is heaven… This is November in Marrakech..

This week I did my humble part of being eco-conscious and following a no waste policy. Creating a whole new space with recycled elements. Cutting off old bits of fabrics and sewing the best parts together to design pillows. Repainting, putting anti-rust coats on metal pieces … and enjoying that good stuff, like good clothes never age. All of us can probably create new spaces or looks with recycled and refreshed furniture..

One of the best thing about having a small hotel is the amazing people you host… We just had a wonderful, fun and energetic group members of an association called “ Women of color in design” … What memories and what fun!

As usual, such a mix of creative people meeting .. an Iranian- American artist, a philanthropist from Cyprus, the Corean-American founder of a rice whiskey brand, all invited by our mutual friend a Mexican who lives in Munich…! Then an American-French Senegalese , and the international star of all creatives, always between flights but with roots in Senegal and Ivory Coast, the legendary ! We were gathered around the tasting of the food of the master yakitori Alan.. who is an achieved Japanese chef while being Mexican from the US. His adorable partner is 1/2 Italian 1/4 Philipina 1/4 German .. and of course all in Marrakech … diversity, creativity and energy … a way of life.

Halloween tonight is organised by at the beautiful plant nursery of .. such excitement.. amazing entertainment, great food by in support of this innovative, connected and smart new food movement gathered around the celebration of creativity in all fields.

When our friend wears another friend gorgeous design and stands in front of a beautify painting at .. art becomes worn ..

Even when you designed a place, and believe that you know it by heart ... it is exciting to notice an angle which had escaped to your attention ...

Does it get any better in these scary times to have a fruit plate where each fruit grew in the garden.. figs, melon, grapes and watermelon are exquisite.. we are infinitely grateful for this ..

Does it get any better than having your first book posted on Rizzolibookstore page surrounded by Jim Morrison, Stephen King, Mick Jagger and Bruce Springsteen ? Thank you you have all my gratitude for such an honor!

For someone like me who has closely worked with local craftsmen for 30 years now, it is thrilling to see the evolution of beautiful and extremely ornate patterns. They are still around with deserved success. But today we also see plates in two colors only, less ornate, and just as beautiful...
