“Trading Urban Stories” explores the complexities of two contemporary Arab cities through an audio installation, a networked storytelling space and a radio happening. It combines “A Sonic Map of Alexandria”, containing twenty audio pieces about the Egyptian metropolis by the sea, with “Here and Now. Voices of Marrakech”, a radio happening in and around the Marrakech Medina. In the installation, stories, sounds and voices from Alexandria are reloaded and combined with immersive soundscapes and audio pieces created by artists from Marrakech and beyond. The radio happening brings together invited guests, experts, artists, media activists and residents of Marrakech in a series of conversations, live performances, experiments and interventions. It will span 12 hours, take place at the Café des Épices and can be listened to at twelve locations all around the Marrakech Medina as well as on the internet at radio.aporee.org, NssNss.ma & NessRadio.com.
