1. Treat Him as an Avowed Enemy
God explicitly commands human beings to recognize Satan as an open foe rather than a companion or friend.

"Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze."
— Surah Fatir (35:6)

2. Do Not Follow His "Footsteps"
Satan rarely pushes someone into major errors all at once; he operates incrementally through small, gradual compromises (Khutuwat). God cautions against taking even the first small step down that path.

"O you who believe! Do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan – indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing."

Transliteration: Wal-’asr
Translation: By time,
2. إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ
Transliteration: Innal-insāna lafī khusr

3. إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ
Transliteration: Illal-ladhīna āmanū wa ‘amiluṣ-ṣāliḥāti wa tawāṣaw bil-ḥaqqi wa tawāṣaw biṣ-ṣabr
Translation: Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
