قرر الإتحاد الدولي للرياضيات سحب تنظيم المؤتمر الدولي لعلماء الرياضيات الذي كان سيعقد في سانت بطرسبورغ بروسيا في جويلية 2022 و قال أنه سيتم تنظيم المؤتمر افتراضيا عن طريق الأنترنت بشكل كلي.
وللعلم يعد المؤتمر الدولي لعلماء الرياضيات أكبر تجمع لعلماء الرياضيات في العالم ويعقد هذا المؤتمر كل 4 سنوات وتقدم فيه اكبر الجوائز كميدالية فيلدز وجائزة نيفانلينا وجائزة كارل فريدريتش غوص ومدالية تشيرن وجائزة ليلافاتي.
