Our spring break camps are designed to give your child a rest from the regular demands of school and reconnect to outdoor play and discovery.

Camp days are structured in a way that's similar to our forest school programs. Your child's day will be filled with song, movement, observation, social interaction, and play. Pack a picnic lunch and prepare to play in the mud, take turns, hike up a hill, solve spatial problems like building a fort, and help your child become more present with themselves and the world around them. Send them back to school recharged, and full of wonder for nature and community.

Hannah started Second Nature Outdoors and Growing Roots Garden Camp in 2019 because she wanted to provide more opportunities for New York City children and families to connect with nature, and she continues to build invaluable outdoor programs for youth. We look forward to incubating and hatching chicks and ducks with the kids. It's fun to engage them in the process of incubation and to talk about how we care for animals. The kids like naming the animals and before they head to the farm at the end of camp, we give them a big, singing send-off.

Forest Homeschool is going strong on weekdays (Wednesday+Thursday 9:30 AM - 1 PM). Sign up on our website for free trial days on January 24th and 25th.

Sunday Forest School makes its comeback on January 21, featuring a free trial that day and a special cohort for older kids 7+ pending enrollment.

Parent-Caregiver Roots are meeting winter evenings Sundays and Mondays 4-6 PM just $40 then pay-what-you-wish.
