Learn English with Raihan

Frist week of March:
My second grade student, we have improved our reading speed and punctuation. We introduced some writing practices and will start focusing on that.
* an important tip when it comes to creative writing is to let your student/child make mistakes don’t focus on correcting their spelling mistakes but instead let them brain dump. With time there spelling will improve, and later on we will focus on sentence/paragraph structure.

This weeks work for my Jk2 student, he is a super quick learner who has lots of potential!!!

Last week of February review

This student is a second grader, our February goal was to perfect our speaking skills and improve our reading to be able to read 4 full paragraphs a day with limited mistakes✅
Our goals for March is to improve our reading in terms of speed, understanding, and how to encounter new words. In March we will also be introducing writing activities.

‎النصائح!

‎طرق لمساعدة طفلك على التحدث بلغة ثانية وفهمها.

‎1. تبديل كل شيء إلى اللغة الإنجليزية.
‎دع طفلك يشاهد العروض / الأفلام الإنجليزية ، ويلعب الألعاب الإنجليزية ...
‎يساعد هذا في فهم كيفية نطق اللغة الإنجليزية والتعرف عليها.

‎2. الاتصال بصديق أو أحد أفراد الأسرة يتحدث الإنجليزية بشكل جيد.
‎إذا كنت تعرف أي شخص يتحدث الإنجليزية بشكل جيد ، حيث أن طفلك يتحدث إلى شخص يتحدث الإنجليزية جيدًا ، فهذه خدعة كبيرة لزيادة مهارات التحدث لدى طفلك. أوصي بساعة كل يوم ، ويمكن القيام بذلك على الهاتف أو شخصيًا ويمكنهم التحدث عن أي شيء على سبيل المثال: الطقس أو المدرسة أو الأشياء التي تحبها أو تريد القيام بها ... (تذكر لا تساعد طفلك على الإطلاق عندما يكون كذلك بالرد ، دعهم يتعثروا ويكتشفوا الأمر بأنفسهم ثم صححهم إذا ارتكبوا أي أخطاء) * كن مشجعًا !!!

‎3. أضف الصور والكتب وغيرها باللغة الإنجليزية حول منزلك.
‎إن إضافة صور مكتوبة بالكلمات الإنجليزية (cat 🐱 والكتب المصورة المكتوبة باللغة الإنجليزية تساعد الطفل حقًا على التعرف على شكل كلمات معينة ونطقها. حاول أن تجعل طفلك يقرأ بعدك أو يشير بإصبعه ، ثم يتعلم ببطء عليهم نطق كل كلمة. * ابدأ من المستوى 1 ثم اعمل طريقك للأعلى ، لا تقفز المستويات !!! *

‎أعطي دورات اللغة الإنجليزية لأطفال المستوى 1 (عادة الصفوف 1-3) مرة واحدة في الأسبوع. منهجي مأخوذ من مناهج ماكميلان ، وبيرسون ، والكندية ، ولكنه مصمم خصيصًا بناءً على مستوى فهم الطفل وتحدثه وقراءته.

Tips and Tricks!

Ways to help your child speak and understand a second language. (English)

1. Switch everything to English.
Let your child watch English shows/movies, play English games…
This helps with understanding and getting familiar with how the English language sounds.

2. Calling a friend or a family member who speaks good English.
If you know anyone who speaks good English having your child speak to someone who speaks English well is a huge trick to getting your child’s speaking skills going. I recommend an hour each day, this can be done on the phone or in person and they can talk about anything example: the wether, school, things you like or want to do… (remember do not help your child AT ALL when they are replying, let them get stuck and figure it out by themselves then correct them if they made any mistakes) *be encouraging!!!

3. Add pictures, books etc that are in English around your house.
Adding pictures labeled in English words ( cat 🐱 and picture books written in English really helps a child get familiar with how certain words look like and sounding it out. Try to get your child to read after you or point with their finger, then slowly get them to sound each word out. *start at level 1 then work your way up, don’t jump levels!!!*

I hope these tips and tricks help to improve your child’s and your own English language.
I give out English courses to level 1 children (normally grades 1-3) once a week. My curriculum is taken from Macmillan, Pearson, and the Canadian curriculum but is specifically designed based on the child’s level of understanding, speaking and reading.

Grade 1-3 English class:

2-3 hours once a week,
This course is focused on speaking English and English grammar.
Focus of the class:
- beginner (must be able to understand English and reply)
- Conjunctions
- Past vs present
- Nouns
- Capital letter full stops
- Vowels (a vs an)
- Talking about your day, school, basic day to day topics.

****goal at the end of the class is to understand all these topics and be able to use it correctly in a sentence, both written and orally.****
