🌱 AI4GreenBus Project Partners Meet in Riga! 🇪🇺

📅 On 13-14 August, AI4GreenBus partners are meeting in Riga to review project progress, analyse WP2 research findings, and plan the next steps.

💡 Partners are discussing the development of the AI-SBMI training programme, future activities and project communication.

🥽 One of the sessions takes place in a virtual learning environment, giving partners a hands-on opportunity to explore the potential of Metaverse and VR technologies in education.

🤝 Great ideas emerge when education and industry sit around the same table.
Today, the Latvian partners of the AI4GreenBus project met in Riga to brainstorm and jointly design the Latvia Sustainable Business Model Innovation Ecosystem.

What makes this initiative unique is the Triple Helix model – an innovation approach based on close collaboration between higher education institutions, vocational education and training (VET) providers, industry, and the wider public sector. Only by bringing these perspectives together can we create learning experiences that truly reflect the needs of the labour market and society.

🚀🤖During the workshop, representatives from higher education, VET and industry discussed future business education needs, explored how AI and innovative technologies can support sustainable business model innovation, and started shaping real-life challenges that students will solve together with companies.

🎯The goal is clear: to co-create an ecosystem where education and business work hand in hand, enabling learners to develop future skills while addressing real sustainability challenges faced by companies. This collaboration will help prepare a new generation of professionals who are innovative, adaptable and ready for the green and digital transition.

We are excited to continue building this ecosystem together with our partners across Europe!

🤖 Can AI become a smart partner in learning sustainable business? 🌱 And how can students move beyond lectures to experimenting, solving real-world challenges, and creating ideas?

🔍 These questions are currently being explored by partners of the Erasmus+ AI4GreenBus project. Research is already underway - partners are reviewing global practices, testing digital and virtual environments, and searching for innovative ways to create engaging learning experiences.

💡 The first findings show a clear trend: business education is becoming more interactive - simulations, gamification, problem-solving, and AI-supported learning are replacing traditional approaches.

🧠 But AI4GreenBus asks an even bigger question: how can AI support creativity and critical thinking without replacing human decision-making?

🤝 AI as a thinking partner, not a shortcut.

🌱🤖 Is AI sustainable? Learn more in free on-line course!

Artificial Intelligence is often presented as a solution for a greener future. AI can help optimise energy use, improve transport systems, reduce waste, support smarter business decisions and contribute to climate action.

⚠️ But there is another side of the story.

Training and operating AI systems requires large amounts of computing power. Data centres consume significant energy and water resources, and the rapid growth of AI raises important questions about its environmental footprint.

So the question remains: Is AI sustainable?

To support this discussion, Turiba University has developed a freely available online course in English on AI and Sustainability within the Erasmus+ AI-ERIT project.
