You should dedicate one day a week (or 19 hours and 38 minutes to be precise) to watching a marathon of all the Harry Potter DVDs and must try to memorise as many of the lines as possible in a bid to impress your friends with your Harry Potter wisdom (because, really, how else would you make friends?!).

The formula to making the perfect St. Patrick’s Day celebration is even simplier! You need one enthusiastic Bristish group, support from the professors, presence of some Erasmus+ friends, a real Irish dance studio and of course the spirit of Ireland.
On Wednesday, March 22 the members of British Club came together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. This cultural and religious holiday is named in honor of the patron saint of Ireland and nowadays is celebrated by many people throughout the world. British Club simply couldn’t stay on the sidelines.
Thanks to the special guests from the “Ceili Rue” dance studio everyone could learn a few traditional Irish dance steps, which was truly exciting experience! Saint Patrick’s day quiz checked the knowledge level of the holiday history and contained many surprising facts about the contemporary celebration.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the celebration! Hopefully this will become a great tradition of British Club.

14.-16. martā Latvijas Kultūras akadēmijā ar lekciju sēriju viesojās Košalinas universitātes (Polija) lektore Izabella Diksone (Izabela Dixon).
Kognitīvajai lingvistikai veltīto lekciju ietvaros tika runāts par baiļu metaforas konceptu, starpkultūru komunikācijas sarežģījumiem „Us and Them” principa dēļ, kā arī par māņticību mūsdienu angļu kultūrā.
