Are you also tired of only sitting in Zoom meetings? Would you like to again get to know new people and enjoy nature? Then we invite you to hike through one of the most beautiful landscapes of Latvia for our Winter Welcome Walk! Follow us to the scenic Gauja valley, explore unique sand-stone caves and see romantic castles around Sigulda. Lead by Sebastian and Laurence, who did many outdoor tours all over the Baltics and have planned an eventful but also beginner-friendly route for you.
When? Saturday, 05.03. from 10:30, coming back to Riga latest 19:45.
Where? Meeting at Riga Train Station, platform 11
Route? From Sigulda along the Gauja shore, view at the new castle, the Tureida castle and the ruin of Krimulda. Visiting the caves Gutmana Ala and Velnala. Depending on your fitness back to Sigulda (total of around 15 km) or further to Eglupe (total of around 20 km).
What to bring? Firm hiking boots, warm clothes, rain jacket – but don’t worry, if the weather is absolutely terrible we’ll postpone the event. Drinking water, you can also bring a thermos flask with tea, coffee or mulled wine. And also necessary: Proof of vaccination.
