Post facebook term 2 week 3
Part 1 !
Another week went by !
All the students are doing remarkably well and progressing nicely.
For Simone, our student next week is the last week and we hope to see the back and term 3.
This week we cooked delicious easy dishes, Mac and cheese dinners and Add ons !
Mac and cheese originated in medieval Europe (with 13th-century Italian pasta-and-cheese recipes) before becoming an American staple popularized by Thomas Jefferson in 1802, notes BBC. It transitioned from a luxury casserole to a mass-marketed staple during the Great Depression with the 1937 launch of Kraft boxed dinners, which sold 8 million units in one year.
Mac and cheese dinners can be elevated from simple sides to hearty meals by adding proteins like bacon, chicken, or lobster, and veggies such as broccoli or spinach. Popular options include Baked Mac and Cheese for a crowd-pleasing crust, 20-minute Stovetop Mac for quick weeknights, or Chili Mac for a one-pot meal
We also cooked out of the box other recipes to boost our students' strength .
Please welcome our Monday Tuesday students- Teachers: Gabi, Stephanie and Jonina !

Just sad 😔
The Transport Minister, Chris Bishop, has confirmed that the Total Mobility subsidy is being cut from 75% down to 65%.
This is because disabled people are using it and going out and doing things. Ordinary, everyday things like meet-ups with friends, shopping for groceries, and attending health appointments.
The horrors!
How very dare we, as a country, support disabled persons who cannot drive or access public transport to have a cost-effective way to get about the place?
The Minister is spinning this as "strengthening" Total Mobility, when what they are doing is implementing austerity measures and making it harder to access - and making it so that disabled people get out less.
It isn’t “strengthening” anything, other than perhaps Willis’ poorly managed budget which is desperately looking for more cuts to services to justify the millions handed out as tax cuts to the already wealthy.
As Huhana Hickey writes,
"Last week I looked at booking a ride, not a luxury trip, not a holiday and not even something optional. I simply needed transport to attend a medical appointment.
Like many disabled people, I rely on the Total Mobility scheme because public transport often remains inaccessible, unreliable, or simply non-existent where I live. For many wheelchair users, blind people, Deaf people, those with chronic illness, neurodivergent people, and disabled elders, Total Mobility is not a convenience.
It is often the only way to get to work, medical appointments, supermarkets, marae, schools, social events, and whānau. Now the Government has decided disabled people should pay more for that access."

Hello everyone!
I can’t believe we already finished week 2 !
The weather is getting colder and nothing better the yummy home cooked meals ❤️
This week we are focusing on Family dinner recipes .
Family dinners evolved from 18th-century midday meals into a formal, unified evening ritual largely after the Industrial Revolution. Originally, households ate in shifts until working outside the home shifted the main meal to the evening. Victorian and post-WWII eras solidified this as a symbolic time for family connection, order, and social value.
Nothing more fun than cooking together as a whānau. We warmly recommend trying and cooking those recipes together as a family.
Each of the family members cooks a recipe or two and in the end you will have a wonderful nourishing meal !
Please welcome our Monday and Tuesday students /Teachers Stephanie and Jonina !
Well done all 🥰 !

Hello lovely students parents carers families and followers!
We Started our marvellous Term 2 !
The first week we were focusing on Breakfasts!!
Breakfast is often considered the most important meal of the day, as it helps fuel the body, kick-start metabolism, and maintain steady energy levels throughout the morning. A balanced breakfast can also support concentration, memory, mood regulation, creativity, and learning.
Breakfast has taken many forms across cultures and history, generally based on simple and nourishing foods. Today, breakfasts range from homemade options such as pancakes, muffins, eggs, and smoothies, to more convenient choices like cereal with milk and fruit.
In our classes, we focus on preparing practical, wholesome breakfasts that students can confidently recreate at home.
Week 1 - Caffe Breakfasts
