Before you take off toward your dream, here are five things every future pilot should know:
📘 Math & Physics
You’ll need only high-school basics - enough to understand flight principles like lift, weight, thrust and drag. These skills help you make smart, safe decisions in the air.
🗣️ English
Aviation speaks English worldwide. Most schools expect ICAO Level 4 proficiency, but you don’t need a certificate before applying, you’ll develop it during training.
💪 Health
You must pass an EASA medical exam, but perfect health isn’t required. Many minor vision or hearing issues are acceptable within limits. Take care of your body early. It’s your most important aircraft.
🎯 Discipline
Pilots succeed through focus and consistency. Ground exams usually require at least 75% to pass - preparation is everything.
🏫 Choosing the Right School
Select an EASA-approved academy with modern aircraft, flexible modular training, and strong pass rates. The right school will shape your entire career.

ERIVA Flight School is a training organization approved by the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of Latvia (CAA), which provides training for private pilots and professional pilots.

We started our activity in 2004, after training our first helicopter pilot students. In 2007 we continued to work as an ERIVA flight school. Our instructors also stand out for their extensive teaching experience.
