🥋 40 ans de karaté, de famille et de fierté.

Hier soir, le Karaté Club Strassen a fêté ses 40 ans entouré de ceux qui comptent. Des membres historiques, des familles, des athlètes, et des officiels venus témoigner de leur soutien. Merci au bourgmestre Nico Pundel et aux échevins de la commune de Strassen, dont Betty Welter-Gaul, d’avoir honoré cet anniversaire de leur présence.

La Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Karaté était également représentée par son président Fred Charlé, le secrétaire Michel Dragone et l’administrateur Nicolas Welsch.

Depuis 40 ans, le Karaté Club de Strassen forme des générations de jeunes. Certains ont porté les couleurs du Luxembourg sur les scènes européennes et mondiales, avec de beaux résultats à la clé. D’autres ont simplement grandi sur les tatamis, entourés de valeurs et d’une vraie communauté.

Ce club, c’est une famille. Des stages d’été organisés chaque année, des voyages aux quatre coins de l’Europe et du monde, et des liens qui durent bien au-delà du sport.

Tout cela repose sur des personnes qui s’engagent avec passion. Merci à Jean-Claude Roob, président du club, et à Leticia Ferreira, pilier indispensable du KCS, pour ce qu’ils construisent chaque jour.

Last Saturday, the FLK was proud to take part in the very first edition of Together Without Limits, the event organized by Special Olympics Luxembourg at the Coque.

19 sports workshops, dozens of participants, and one shared goal: inclusion. Special Olympics gives everyone, regardless of their abilities, the opportunity to thrive through sport. No elitism, no performance criteria. Just the joy of moving, improving and building connections.

The FLK ran the karate workshop with games and activities adapted for everyone. A huge thank you to Loïc Bento, technical director, to Wilson do Santos, coach, and to Michelle Grigorova, athlete, for their energy and enthusiasm throughout the day. Thank you also to Fred Charlé, president of the FLK, who came to cheer everyone on.

These moments remind us why karate is so much more than a sport. It is a tool for inclusion, respect and sharing.

🇫🇷 Après 4 années passées au sein de la Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Karaté en tant qu’Entraîneur National, Yves Bardreau quittera officiellement la FLK ce vendredi 29 mai. 🇱🇺🥋
Durant ces années, Yves aura marqué la fédération par son engagement, son exigence, sa passion du karaté et son investissement auprès des athlètes luxembourgeois.
Yves, une nouvelle aventure t’attend désormais à Paris, aux côtés de et de la Fédération Française de Karaté, pour relever de nouveaux défis. 🇫🇷
Merci Yves pour tout ce que tu as apporté à la FLK, sur et en dehors des tatamis. Ce fut un réel plaisir de partager cette aventure avec toi pendant ces 4 années.
On te souhaite le meilleur pour la suite… même si on a comme l’impression qu’on va encore te voir très souvent au bord des tatamis ! 😉

After four years with the Luxembourg Karate Federation as National Coach, Yves Bardreau will officially leave the FLK on May 29. 🇱🇺🥋
During these years, Yves has left a lasting mark on the federation through his dedication, high standards, passion for karate, and commitment to Luxembourg’s athletes.
Yves, a new adventure now awaits you in Paris with Gilles Cherdieu and the French Karate Federation, where he will take on new challenges. 🇫🇷
Thank you, Yves, for everything you have brought to the FLK, both on and off the tatami. It has been a real pleasure sharing this journey with you over the past four years.
We wish you every success in this new chapter… although we have a feeling we will still be seeing you very often around the tatami! 😉

🇫🇷Présente à Francfort lors des Championnats d’Europe Seniors, la FLK a également pris part au Congrès officiel WKF/EKF réunissant les dirigeants et représentants des fédérations européennes.
Fred Charlé, Président de la FLK, ainsi que Mohammed Abu Wahib, Directeur Technique National, ont représenté le Luxembourg lors de ces importantes discussions consacrées à l’avenir et au développement du karaté international.
Un moment d’échange essentiel pour continuer à faire progresser le karaté luxembourgeois au sein des instances européennes et mondiales. 🇱🇺 🇬🇧Present in Frankfurt during the Senior European Karate Championships, the Luxembourg Karate Federation (FLK) also took part in the official WKF/EKF Congress gathering leaders and representatives of the European federations.

Nos athlètes ont porté haut les couleurs du Luxembourg lors des 61e Championnats d’Europe Seniors.
Même si cette fois nous revenons sans médaille, chacun a montré du cœur, de la détermination et un vrai esprit de combat face à un niveau européen extrêmement relevé.
Chaque combat, chaque round et chaque expérience comptent dans cette progression. On apprend, on grandit, et on revient plus forts 💪🇱🇺
Un grand bravo à nos athlètes pour leur engagement tout au long de cette compétition.
Merci également aux entraîneurs, au staff, aux arbitres, à Dermot notre physio, ainsi qu’à toutes les personnes qui ont accompagné et soutenu la délégation durant cette belle aventure.

Our athletes proudly represented Luxembourg at the 61st Senior European Championships.
Even without a medal this time, every athlete showed heart, determination, and true fighting spirit against some of the best competitors in Europe.
Every fight, every round, and every experience is part of the journey. We learn, we grow, and we come back stronger 💪🇱🇺
Huge congratulations to all our athletes for their commitment and effort throughout the competition.
A big thank you as well to our coaches, staff, referees, Dermot our physio, and everyone who supported the delegation during this important week
