Luxembourg School of Business offers a part-time Master in Business Administration (Weekend MBA), a Full-Time Master in Management, as well as short specialized programs for individuals and tailor-made programs for companies. The Weekend MBA program and the Master in Management are recognized and accredited by the Luxembourg Ministry of Higher Education and Research and our institution is a member

of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the leading global business education network. Congratulations to our Weekend MBA students on completing two years of study alongside their careers and presenting the results of their final Consulting Projects.

Over 15 weeks, they worked in teams with ODYSSEUS Space SA and Cargolux Airlines Intl., bringing together perspectives from different industries and professional roles to develop clear recommendations.

They presented their work directly to company representatives and faculty, explaining their choices and answering questions.

Congratulations to our Full-Time MBA students, whose final Consulting Project presentations brought their intensive 12-month program to a close.

Leadership is tested when the environment is unfamiliar and the team depends on your decisions.

This July, our MBA students stepped outside the classroom for another leadership course jointly organized with the Lëtzebuerger Arméi - putting communication, adaptability, trust, and teamwork into practice.

Because leadership is not about standing at the front. It is about moving the whole team forward.

Thank you to the Luxembourg Army for another valuable collaboration.

One of the greatest strengths of any business school is the community its graduates continue to build together.

This month, LSB alumni elected a new Alumni Board: a group of graduates who will help shape the future of our growing network over the next 18 months. Together, they will drive networking opportunities, industry round tables, community events, partnerships and initiatives that bring alumni together across industries, functions, and career stages.

Because the most valuable part of a business school isn’t only what you learn, but the people who stay with you long after graduation.

Luxembourg School of Business has opened the Joint KUL–LSB PhD in Business Administration, in partnership with KU Leuven

The program was launched at a ceremony in Luxembourg, at which Professor Joel Mokyr — laureate of the 2025 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences — lectured on the origins of sustained growth and accepted the role of Patron.

The doctorate is conferred by KU Leuven — founded in 1425, and one of Europe’s leading research universities — under its own degree-granting authority, with LSB as host and co-supervising institution.

The pairing is deliberate. KU Leuven brings doctoral rigour and scholarly authority. LSB brings three things: Luxembourg, with its financial centre, EU institutions, cross-border labour market and dense family-business economy — the settings in which the research questions arise; senior faculty drawn from its international academic network; and a support system built to carry candidates through a demanding programme alongside their careers.

The structure is itself an innovation. In place of the single supervisor of the traditional doctorate, each candidate works with a KU Leuven promotor, an LSB co-supervisor and a non-academic mentor who also holds a doctorate. An industry committee accompanies the research, testing its relevance and its practical significance. Academic authority remains where it belongs — with the promotor and the jury.

The programme is designed for accomplished professionals who want to advance the frontier of their field without stepping away from the work that put them there. Four years, in English, compatible with full-time employment, culminating in four articles of publishable quality defended before a jury.

The first cohort will admit 3 candidates.

Luxembourg School of Business hosted Professor Joel Mokyr in Luxembourg.

Professor Mokyr is the laureate of the 2025 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, Robert H. Strotz Professor of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University, and one of the world’s foremost economic historians. The prize was awarded for identifying the prerequisites for sustained growth through technological progress.

He came to lecture on the origins of sustained growth.

The question behind that title is deceptively simple. The world was poor for millennia. Then, in one corner of Europe, it stopped being poor — and stayed rich. Why there, and why then?

Mokyr’s answer is not invention. Inventions occurred in many societies that never grew wealthy; ingenuity is not scarce. What changed was the arrival of useful knowledge — knowledge that explains why something works, not merely that it does — together with institutions willing to test it, contest it, publish it, and pass it on. Growth, on this account, is not a windfall. It is what happens when a society builds the machinery to produce and circulate knowledge, and then keeps that machinery honest.

It is a thesis with an evident bearing on a small, open, prosperous economy that has to keep earning its position.

The occasion was the opening of our Joint KUL–LSB PhD in Business Administration, the doctoral program we run in partnership with KU Leuven. Professor Mokyr has accepted to serve as its Patron.
