Roasting day.

Whole beans from Sidamo. Roasted in Vilnius, in small batches — the way it's been done for generations in Ethiopia.
When the colour turns and the smell shifts, that's the moment. You can't rush it.

Shop Sidamo → eskedarcoffee.com

Skrudinimo diena.

To negalima skubinti.

"I grew up in a family of 19 people.

My grandfather had royal blood — in Ethiopia, that lineage existed until the 1960s and 70s before the socialist government erased it. He was the wisest man I knew.

And I was his girl.

As a teenager I shaved my head completely. I played football with the boys in the village. My mother and grandmother were not pleased.

My grandfather would say: ""That's my girl. Let her do what she wants.""

I think about him often. I think his stubbornness lives in me.

It crossed the Sahara. It built four coffee shops. It will build a school.

☕ "

"Užaugau 19 žmonių šeimoje.

Mano senelis turėjo karališko kraujo. Etiopijoje tokia linija egzistavo iki 1960–70-ųjų, kol socialistų valdžia ją panaikino. Jis buvo išmintingiausias žmogus, kurį pažinojau.

Ir aš buvau jo mergaitė.

Paauglystėje nusiskirpau galvą plikai. Žaidžiau futbolą su kaimo berniukais. Mama ir močiutė nebuvo patenkintos.

Senelis sakydavo: ""Tai mano mergaitė. Tegul daro, ką nori.""

Dažnai apie jį galvoju. Manau, jo užsispyrimas gyvena manyje.

Jis perėjo Sacharą. Pastatė keturias kavines. Pastatys mokyklą.

☕ "

2005. Ethiopia. Eskedar Tilahun left everything she knew.

2021. Vilnius. She opened her first café.

Sixteen years. One woman. One name on the door.

Five years in, I am so proud of this woman.

Meet Igne — and the iced coffee she very much earned today.

She codes. She breakdances. She teaches the Wim Hof method. And somehow she still makes time for long conversations over coffee. In 2023 we travelled to Ethiopia together — to the land where Eskedar's beans come from — and I came back understanding why I do this work, and why the people I do it alongside matter so much.

Igne is one of the women who inspire me here in Lithuania. Not because she does a lot of things, but because she does them with intention. Our values align in many ways: curiosity, compassion, community is some of them.

Today, that looks like an iced coffee at Eskedar Coffee Flow — laptop open, sunlight pouring in through the big windows, a little tree reaching up from the planter behind her. A quiet place to think, build, and breathe between the work.

If you're looking for somewhere to land for a few focused hours in Vilnius — natural light, greenery, good coffee, slow energy — Eskedar Coffee at Flow is built for exactly that.

With love and big respect →

One of the oldest hospitality traditions in the world. Three brews from one batch — abol, tona, bereka. Popcorn and frankincense. An intimate coffee setup, just a brief trip to Ethiopia with Eskedar. Register at [email protected]

Ethiopian coffee. Grown in Yirgacheffe. Roasted in Vilnius, by hand — the way Eskedar learned as a girl from her grandparents.

She crossed the Sahara to build this. Come taste it.

📍 Four cafés . All Vilnius.

It is always about people, getting together and sharing. Just like it was at my grandparents, as it was at home.

In Ethiopia, the coffee ceremony isn't a ritual. It's a conversation. You sit. You wait. You talk. Three rounds, each one stronger than the last. That's what we bring to Vilnius. Coffee as an ancient form of diplomacy. Come and sit with us.
