We joyfully welcome Dr. Mary Wong as our new Program Director. A global leader in TESOL, Dr. Wong brings decades of teaching, leadership, and scholarly impact—along with a passion for mentoring faculty and students alike.

Congratulations to our five MA TESOL graduates who successfully defended their thesis projects this week. Thesis project topics ranged from classroom interaction in dual language programs to analysis of complexity, accuracy, and fluency in L2 writing – and many more! We celebrate with our students and their advisors as we witness their hard work and passion for research.

Today in my English class for beginners, we are learning food vocabulary and adverbs of frequency (always, sometimes, never). We will also “go shopping” in a local grocery store to prepare a meal for our class. What are you doing in your English class today?

I had a marvelous time collaborating with the professors at Kaunas Technical University (KTU). We read, marked and listened to 25 senior students present their final projects (thesis) in the program “New Language Media.” A huge shout out to the great work of these amazing colleagues.

This summer LCC is partnering with the employment agency in Klaipeda, Užimtumo Tarnyba, to offer English classes for beginners. Our professors are not only researchers, but we are also practitioners as we offer our TESOL expertise to our local communities. This week, students are learning how to introduce themselves, how to tell time, and how to order coffee in English.
