Zwedru, Liberia, Africa is like many areas of the country where it's citizens are underserved and education is both expensive and political systems corrupt. We are working to raise funds to build a K-12 school in the Zwedru community. The school will be built in three stages. Primary/elementary school first with administration, structures at $100,000 taking approximately 6months-1yr to complete. Second and third phases-middle and high schools construction $70,000 each and 6 months ea. With available funding, the school could be fully operational within 2yrs. Expected full enrollment is 1000 students total. All construction would be with local labor and materials-no National construction companies because of rampant fraud/communication issues. Teachers would be locally recruited-many teachers teach at several schools to generate income. (Ed system pays $200-300/mo in public schools, sometimes teachers go months without pay.) Total construction and school establishment costs total to $250,000. We will update this page with more photos, blueprints of the school plans, an introduction to the principal of the school, Joshua, and further progress. The website is currently under construction to be launched soon. If you wish to learn more information about donating to the school, please contact Mike at [email protected]
