The leadership of the Accounting Students Association (ASA) extends heartfelt appreciation to the Dean of the Business & Public Administration College, all departmental heads, and the Administration of African Methodist Episcopal University for the successful launch of the “Ascendancy Agenda” held on Friday.
We are truly grateful for the vision, leadership, and commitment demonstrated in organizing such a remarkable and impactful initiative aimed at promoting unity, innovation, and excellence within the College.
Our sincere appreciation also goes to Jacob C. Debee II, our distinguished guest speaker, for his inspiring speech, words of encouragement, and generous financial support toward the success of the program. Your contribution and motivation have greatly inspired students to remain focused and determined in achieving their goals.
Additionally, we extend our thanks and appreciation to all departments within the Business & Public Administration College for actively participating in the one-day football and kickball tournament. The display of teamwork, sportsmanship, unity, and departmental collaboration made the event both memorable and successful.

The Business College is hosting a one-day tournament for the five colleges on the 8th day of May 2026. Before the game, there will be an indoor program with a parade. We will be launching the “Ascendency Agenda” of the Business College, which is built on three pillars:
1. The Innovators Series (Workshops & Seminars)
2. The Financial Initiative (Scholarships)
3.The College Crown (Sporting Activities)
As the Accounting Students Association, we are ready to lead, dominate, and set the pace—both academically and on the field. This is more than just an event; it’s a statement of excellence, unity, and ambition.
After the launch, these activities will be hosted yearly—giving us the platform to consistently showcase our strength, brilliance, and unmatched spirit.

Accounting Students Association (ASA) – One Month Progress Report under the Stewardship of President Melvin D. Wallace.
First Month in Office
After a month of being inducted into office , ASA delivers strong leadership and results for the responsibility bestowed on them.
Through the able stewardship of president Melvin D. Wallace, the Accounting Students Association-ASA is thrilled in celebration of the leadership's first 30 days into office with significant successes made thus far.
These early accomplishments echo the leadership preparedness and willingness to work for the common good of the association in making sure that basic necessities for the general students populace in the field of accountancy are actualize promoting transparency and accountability.
Having demonstrated tangible Achievements in the first Month of office, the leadership will highlight its SUCCESSES.
Below are the following milestones of achievements which range from the period before induction up to the current.
Financial Status:
The administration of president Melvin D. Wallace, having won the election, met a zero balance financial position of the association.
There was no money available to initiate activities.
In the leadership's ways , it was able to raise funds among the elected officials and fellow students to host the induction ceremony.
Today, the Association is happily positioned with approximately $705 USD and LRD 18,200 in its coffers.
Additionally, for the first time in ASA’s history, the Association now operates both Mobile Money and Orange Money accounts, with a total petty cash reserve of $50 USD.

Communication and Transparency:
As communication and transparency are important and crucial aspects of our institutional existence, which allow us emerging accountants to effectively convey financial information, build trust with colleagues and ensure accuracy in our profession, a page has been created under the name "Accounting Students Association(ASA)- AMEU", where regular updates about the Association are been shared.
The official email address ([email protected]) ensures that inquiries and correspondence are responded to within 24 hours,and has also been made effective.

Engagement and Records:
A WhatsApp chat room has been created and already includes over 120 Accounting major and minor students, with more to be added as we have more engagements .
Membership forms are now available for just 50 LRD, making them accessible to all students gaining a sense of recognition with the association.
In a more easier, quicker and generally less hassle way of promoting transparency and accountability in our institution, two physical files have been established in the department:
1. One contains official documents and receipts of purchases made by the Association.
2. The second contains filled membership forms, helping the Association track the number of active members.
Departmental Support from the Association:
The leadership has successfully purchased a full DSTv package for the department, helping students stay informed about global affairs.
Our initiatives which also aim to support administrative functions, that we turned as a relieving department ability to provide services to students, the purchase of two cartons of A4 sheets were made to enhance documentation and communication.
The leadership of ASA—AME University remains committed to creating a vibrant, ethical and forward-looking environment that supports every student on their path to becoming competent and professional accountants.
Ongoing Initiatives:
The leadership is also excited to inform you on other activities that it's working on for the benefit of all associates of this institution.
Tutorial classes, Internship opportunities, Seminars, Association T-shirts and
Social activities (Sports Day and Field Trip) are all in the sight fullness of the leadership where every student could experience a life changing moment in their college or university life.
A Special thanks to the 2023 ASA leadership team for their support in cash of $300 USD and LRD 18,200. What we can assure your team is that, the ASA you left behind will not be the same and we will not fail in delivering for the association.

On yesterday, May 4, 2025, the Accounting students were in attendance, along with the Vice President of the Accounting Students Association, Mr. Samuel Janielro Korkor , and the Chaplain, Miss Ellen Brown, at the official launch of the Koufa Consortium Professional Training Program and Test Center.
The Koufa Consortium, in partnership with AMEU, is establishing Liberia’s first comprehensive preparatory training program and testing center for globally recognized certifications such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), among others.
These professional certifications are essential for students pursuing a career in accounting and finance. We strongly encourage all aspiring accountants to take full advantage of these opportunities to enhance their professional qualification
After the launch, the leadership met with the Speaker, Hon. Richard N. Koon and held a brief but fruitful discussion with him. He gave us a warm reception and expressed his willingness to work with the Accounting Students Association.
