PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT, DISTRICT-13 STUDENTS' UNION (DITSU)

For Immediate Release

The Office of the President of the District-13 Students' Union (DITSU) categorically rejects the defamatory and illegitimate press release issued by MONSU Press Secretary Josephus Dukuly on October 17, 2025.

The statement is fundamentally flawed and based on a false premise. The District-13 Students' Union is an autonomous and independent body, not an auxiliary, association, or chapter of the Montserrado County Students' Union (MONSU). Therefore, MONSU and its President, Oliver C. Jarka, possess no jurisdictional authority to suspend, appoint, or make any pronouncements regarding the leadership of our Union.

Comrade Joseph Putin Kai Jr. remains the undisputed and legitimate President of the District-13 Students' Union. Any claim of him holding a Coordinator role under MONSU is a fiction designed to undermine our sovereignty. The so-called suspension is null and void and has no effect on his position or duties.

We condemn this blatant attempt to interfere in our independent affairs and disrupt the stability of our union. We urge all students and the public to disregard MONSU's publication in its entirety.

The leadership of the District-13 Students' Union remains firmly under the command of its duly elected President, Comrade Joseph Putin Kai Jr.

District-13 Students' Union (DITSU) utilizes this medium to ask partners, donors, humanitarians, and stakeholders to invest or donate to our 1,000,000 LRD Scholarship drive for 50 Students.

Talented elementary, junior, and senior high students in District-13 risk losing their education over unpaid tuition fees. DITSU aims to raise 1,000,000 LRD to keep 50 Scholars in class this year. Your support is important because without full tuition, these students will drop-out off school.

Every $20,000 LRD you give sponsors one student's annual tuition across all levels. We appreciate your commitment for your understanding.
