PRESS Statement For Immediate Release
LINSU CLARIFIES MISINFORMATION ON THE HEALTH STATUS OF CDE. VARNEY ALIEU JARSEY
Monrovia, Liberia โ The Liberia National Studentsโ Union (LINSU) finds it compelling to clarify the misinformation regarding the health of Cde. Varney Alieu Jarsey, current President of the All-Africa Studentsโ Union (AASU) and former President of LINSU.
Earlier yesterday, one of the sources from India, where Comrade Jarsey is currently undergoing advanced medical treatment, erroneously released information suggesting his demise. This was misleading and inaccurate. LINSU has since engaged both the attending family members and the team of physicians and surgeons in India, who have once again confirmed that Comrade Jarsey remains alive, though in critical condition.
In close consultation with the continental student movement, LINSU urges the public, comrades, and well-wishers across Africa and the world to remain hopeful and prayerful for the full recovery of President Jarsey.
We affirm our unbending commitment to provide timely, factual, and verified updates on his health status as we continue to remain in close touch with his family and medical team in India.
At this critical juncture, we call on all students (nationally and internationally) and the general public to dismiss any unverified report and stand in solidarity with our comrade, whose resilience has always been an emblem of the African student struggle.
