LIPS TO COMMEMORATE WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY WITH JOINT PANEL DISCUSSION

The Liberia Institute of Public Speaking - LIPS will on Saturday, October 3, 2026, hold a joint session bringing together trainees from the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Levels, as well as members of the LIPS Alumni Network (LAN), to commemorate World Teachers’ Day 2026.

The commemoration will feature a panel discussion on:

“Causes of Mass Failures of Liberian Students in Public Examinations: Who Is Responsible?”

The discussion will examine the roles of teachers, students, school authorities and parents/home in contributing to or addressing poor examination outcomes.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

LIPS is inviting interested trainees and alumni to volunteer for the following roles:

4 PANELISTS
• One Beginner trainee
• One Intermediate trainee
• One Advanced trainee
• One LIPS alumnus/alumna

4 MODERATORS
• Current LIPS trainees from the different levels

Interested persons should express their interest to the LIPS Administration as soon as possible.

Let us use public speaking to promote meaningful conversations about the future of education in Liberia.

🎓 LIPS CLASS OF 2026 ELECTS GRADUATING CLASS LEADERSHIP❤️🖤💚

The Liberia Institute of Public Speaking - LIPS congratulates the Graduating Class of 2026 on the successful election of its class leadership as preparations intensify for graduation on Saturday, December 12, 2026.

The class has elected:

👏 Victor Suah — President
👏 Stephen Nyumah — Vice President
👏 Helena Tengbeh — Financial Secretary/Treasurer

The elected leaders are candidates for the Diploma in Public Speaking and Leadership Program and are expected to work closely with the LIPS Administration in coordinating activities leading to a successful and memorable graduation ceremony.

Their responsibilities will include supporting program planning and participation, guest invitations, hall decoration, the end-of-quarter gathering, and other graduation-related activities.

LIPS looks forward to working with the new leadership as they demonstrate the very principles of leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and service that they have been learning throughout their training.

With more than 20 years of experience working to advance the well-being and rights of children, we look forward to her leadership and collaboration with the Government, partners, communities, children and adolescents across Liberia.

At LIPS, we believe that every child has a voice, and every child deserves the confidence and skills to make that voice count.

Through our children's public speaking and leadership programs, we are committed to helping young people develop the confidence to speak, the skills to communicate, and the courage to participate in decisions that affect their lives and communities.

LIPS CONCLUDES 2026 CHILDREN’S PUBLIC SPEAKING VACATION PROGRAM AS PARENTS CALL FOR REGULAR SESSIONS

The Liberia Institute of Public Speaking - LIPS has successfully concluded its 2026 Children’s Public Speaking Vacation Program, with parents calling for the initiative to continue through regular sessions during the school year.

The program, which focused on developing children’s communication and confidence, ended this week with a special presentation session attended by parents and other members of the public.

As a major part of the closing activities, participating children delivered individual speech projects to showcase what they had learned throughout the program. The presentations demonstrated their progress in areas including public speaking, oral English, pronunciation, speech organization, confidence, stage presence and debate.

The young speakers were given the opportunity to stand before an audience and independently present their prepared speeches, providing parents with a firsthand view of their development during the training.

Parents expressed satisfaction with the impact of the program and encouraged LIPS to organize similar sessions on a regular basis alongside the formal school year. Their response reflects growing interest in helping children develop communication and leadership skills from an early age.

For LIPS, the successful completion of the vacation program is another step toward its broader goal of preparing confident communicators and emerging leaders.

The Institute believes that public speaking is a skill that can be developed through consistent training and practice. Its children’s programs therefore provide young learners with opportunities to build confidence, communicate clearly and express their ideas before an audience.

As LIPS prepares for its next cohort and future phases of the children’s program, parents are encouraged to take advantage of upcoming enrollment opportunities.

Give your child more than academic knowledge. Give them the confidence to speak, lead and be heard.
