LIPS MAJOR UPDATES!

Greetings, Trainees,

I trust all's well with all.

As we approach the end of the current training quarter, kindly take note of the following important updates:

1. This Saturday is set for presenting final speech projects by trainees of all levels, starting at 1PM. Only PowerPoint slides will be considered. For example: Slide 1 - Topic and Name(s) of Presenters. You may send your presentation via email to [email protected].

2. Progress reports will be ready the following week: Saturday (Len Millar High School Campus, 11AM to 1PM) and Monday to Friday ( YWCA Compound in Congo Town, 11AM to 3PM).

3. The next training quarter or semester will begin August 15, and REGISTRATION IS IN PROGRESS.

4. The aptitude test for new candidates is THIS SATURDAY at 12 NOON on Len Millar High School Campus (24th Street, Sinkor), so please encourage someone to write the test.

5. There will be compulsory online classes running for all trainees. Details will be shared later...

LIPS Empowers Graduating Students Through Free Graduation Speech Writing and Delivery Seminar

The Liberia Institute of Public Speaking - LIPS has successfully conducted a free Graduation Speech Writing and Delivery Seminar for graduating high school and prospective college students in Paynesville, providing participants with practical knowledge and confidence to prepare and deliver outstanding graduation speeches.

The one day seminar, held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Morris' Farm Public School, brought together dozens of enthusiastic 12th graders from Morris' Farm Public School, John B. Wahpoe Inland Academy (JBWIA), Elder Clifton Goodloe Academy, and several other schools.

The highly interactive training was facilitated by LIPS Lead Facilitator, D. Adam Togba, who guided participants through the essential steps of developing, writing, organizing, and confidently delivering memorable graduation speeches. The session also featured practical presentation exercises and personalized feedback that enabled participants to immediately apply the skills they had learned.

Speaking during the seminar, Mr. Togba emphasized that graduation speeches represent more than ceremonial addresses. He noted that they are opportunities for graduates to inspire hope, celebrate achievements, appreciate those who contributed to their success, and challenge their friends to pursue excellence beyond the classroom.

Throughout the training, participants actively engaged in discussions, practical exercises, and question and answer sessions. Many expressed appreciation for the quality of the training, describing it as educational, impactful, and timely. Several participants acknowledged that they had previously struggled with speech preparation and public speaking but now feel better equipped to address audiences with confidence on graduation day.

Some participants also expressed interest in enrolling in the Liberia Institute of Public Speaking's regular Public Speaking and Leadership Training Program to further strengthen their communication and leadership skills.

LIPS extends sincere appreciation to the Brainy Youth Association BYA for its valuable partnership and coordination in making the seminar a success. The institute also thanks the administration of Morris' Farm Public School for generously providing the venue and logistical support that contributed to the smooth conduct of the event.
