𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 is one of Liberia’s most distinguished debate societies, with a proud legacy that has spanned for decades. Over the years, the society has built a strong reputation for excellence in intellectualism, critical thinking, and competitive debating.

The society has won several trophies and honors, demonstrating consistent dominance on the national stage making it arguably the best in Liberia’s debating history.

Beyond Liberia, the society has represented the country and United Methodist University in prestigious international tournaments, even advancing to the finals.

The Light Debate Society remains a symbol of academic excellence, leadership, and intellectual growth at United Methodist University and Liberia.
