INVESTING IN OUR YOUTH, INVESTING IN MARGIBI! 🇱🇷

In fulfillment of our commitment to youth empowerment and educational advancement, I, through the Professor Dr. William Kpanah Gowah Barnes Mentorship & Empowerment Program, have initiated financial assistance toward the registration fees of several students in Margibi County District #1.

Each participating student is receiving LRD 3,000 toward registration fees. The participating schools include SAMWA, Ben’s Foundation, A.D. Peabody, and H.E. Bailey Methodist.

In our quest of helping the "NOBODIES BECOME SOMEBODIES," we can safely express that this is only the beginning. As the program expands, our goal is to reach schools and deserving students across the entire District #1, and hopefully extend this initiative throughout Margibi County and Liberia.

Dear Mentees, Mentors, and Friends...

Thank you for your active support and participation—especially for following our page and encouraging others to do the same.

In fulfillment of our pledge to contribute towards the registration fees of qualified students/mentees for this academic year, I, Prof. Dr. William Kpanah Gowah Barnes, through our Executive Committee, will begin making direct payments to the schools in lower Margibi County, starting Friday, August 14, 2026.

While the crux of our work is NOT to pay students’ school fees, we hope that this modest support and contribution will help qualified mentees get a good start to the new school year.

Thank you once again for your continued support, encouragement, and commitment to our shared mission.

As we continue to celebrate the 179th Independence Day of the Republic of Liberia, we are filled with gratitude for the remarkable people who continue to invest in the lives, dreams, and future of our young people.

We extend our deepest appreciation to our esteemed mentor, Prof. Dr. William Kpanah Gowah Barnes, and his dedicated team for their unwavering support, guidance, encouragement, and commitment to the Professor Dr. William Kpanah Gowah Mentorship and Empowerment Program. Your investment in our young people is an investment in the future of Liberia. 🇱🇷❤️

We are equally grateful to our Keynote Speaker, an astute scholar, Mr. Vandalark R. Patricks, a graduate of Harvard University, who honored us with his presence and powerful words of inspiration during our Independence Day program in Marshall, Margibi County.

His life story reminds us that greatness is not determined by one's background, but by vision, perseverance, education, discipline, and the courage to pursue one's dreams. Coming from humble beginnings as the son of a hardworking palm wine tapper and rising to become a Harvard University graduate and accomplished scholar is a powerful testimony to what is possible when determination meets opportunity.

To our young people, his story carries a profound message: Never allow your circumstances to define your destiny. Dream beyond your environment. Pursue knowledge. Work hard. Remain humble. Serve your community. And believe that you, too, can make a meaningful contribution to Liberia.

Our sincere thanks also go to everyone who contributed in one way or another to making this Independence Day mentorship and empowerment gathering a success.

As Liberia moves forward, may we continue to build a generation of young Liberians who are educated, empowered, disciplined, patriotic, and prepared to lead with integrity.

Happy Independence Day, Liberia! 🇱🇷

As we celebrate our nation's independence, let us also commit to mentoring and empowering a young person who may be struggling with poverty, illicit drug addiction, trauma, teenage pregnancy, or the inability to afford school. Remember, mentorship doesn't always require money—sometimes, a story of resilience, encouragement, or guidance can change a life forever.

At 2pm on Sunday, July 26, under the auspices of the "Professor Dr. William Kpanah Gowah Barnes Mentorship and Empowerment Program" a seasoned financial expert and integrity icon, Joseph FassavoluTahamba Sando, alongside an authentic Ivy League Scholar Vandalark R. Patricks --a Harvard University graduate and the son of a humble palm wine tapper—will inspire hundreds of students across Margibi County by sharing their remarkable journeys from humble beginnings to extraordinary achievements.

This Independence Day, let's celebrate not only our freedom but also our responsibility to inspire, empower and mentor the next generation.
