MISS ECO ENVIRONMENT -B**G 2022 AWARENESS, NOVEMBER 6, 2022
..................................................................................
DAVID DEANS TOWN, KOKOYAH DISTRICT -MNG GOLD CONCESSION AREA
...................................................................................
The Miss Eco-Environment B**g-2022 Contestants on Saturday, November 6, 2022 embarked and successfully implemented a massive, inclusive and informative Awareness campaign which was exclusively characterized by an innovative all day road trip to the famous MNG GOLD concession area in Kokoyah.
Our Awarenesses were integratedly done on the New Land Rights Act, the Local Governance Act and some critical Environmental issues hindering forest life, wife life and health related problems. Our mode of engagement was primarily done through on-on-one acquaintances with community members, the distribution of a simplified version of brochures to literate inhabitants and the live and terrific performance of Drama by the Contestants of the Miss Eco- Environment -B**g 2022 pageant.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE AWARENESS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Evidence is mounting that secure property rights have positive effects for poor people in general and women in particular. The aim of our Awareness was to clearly explicate through vivid examplification on what is known about women's access to and control over land and real property in rural settings. Moreover, we unwaveringly identified approaches to strengthening women, men, and youths on strategic issues about the various land tenure systems, and how Land can be acquired legitimately.
during our tour, it was clearly seen how low-income rural people struggle not only with limited land rights, but with weak land tenure: the ability to control and manage land. This means that even if some rural women have access to land, they may still lack the ability to use it or make long-term decisions about it.
Our Awareness also covered those prevalent issues circulating around Environmental pollution, climate change and global warming.
Climate change combine with a situation that is already compromised by deforestation, habitat destruction, pollution, impoverishment of the soil due to chemical and mechanization, use of land for infrastructures, housing, and entertainment areas should not be handled with less precautions. On the other hand, the farming sector itself is grossly responsible for the pollution of food, water and soil and a significant proportion of CO2 emissions.
Citizens were well informed about the effects of removing trees from large areas (deforestation) without adequate replanting so that wildlife habitats are destroyed and long-term timber growth is decreased.
Huge emphasis were made on the killing of various forms (species) of wild plant and animal life through destruction of habitat, commercial hunting, pest control and pollution to the point where these species no longer exist (extinction).
