Keep this in mind while preparing for WASSCE tomorrow: this exam is not a trap; it's a testimony of your strength. Public exams like the WASSCE are designed to celebrate how far you have gone, not to intimidate you. They are designed to examine the knowledge, thinking, and effort you have built up after years of schooling. Make it your moment to shine, not an obstacle to be feared.

Don't let fear overshadow your confidence. Naturally, you will be anxious, but remember you've prepared for this. All that practice, past questions, and late-night study sessions have provided you with what you need. Fear tends to magnify problems, but vigilance turns them into opportunities. Read every question carefully, and tackle them with the diligence of one who knows they're worth it.

Don't leave a single question blank. Even if you are unsure, attempt every question wisely. A blank will guarantee you zero marks, but a good guess or half answer might earn you some marks. Use the elimination method, look at related concepts, and make sure you write clearly. Examiners value effort rather than perfection.

Be time-disciplined. Manage minutes tightly, do the most familiar questions first, and return to difficult ones. Don't think too much; your first instinct is your best-trained one. And once you're through early? Double-check your work because small changes make enormous differences.

Lastly, trust yourself. You have written numerous exams, but this one is your ticket to greater heights. WASSCE is not merely about marks, but it's about proving to yourself that you can upgrade. Walk into that examination hall with your head held high, pen in hand, and mind focused. You are prepared. You are ready. Go and conquer it!

Character Defines A person, Regardless Of His Or Her Profession

Education has been an integral part of our life and also it is the key for anyone who wants to have a bright and successful future. Yes! education without morals is not a quality education. In the same vein, education without values is like a body without a soul. Be reminded that moral education helps individuals to live good lives and at the same time become positive contributing members of their communities.

In today’s competitive world, where everyone wants to adopt and excel in a certain profession, but at the same time they are overlooking one of the most important lessons of life, that is being a good human being. I can conceitedly say when moral education becomes that magnetic force, it can shape the behaviour of any given person. In continuation, moral education is that set of principles which society must uphold to help individuals to differentiate between right and wrong or good and bad. When one moves in such a direction, you learn honesty, integrity, courtesy, truthfulness, compassion, love, helpfulness, hard work and respectfulness. Albert Einstein once said “The most important human endeavor is the striving for morality in our actions. Our inner balance and even our very existence depends on it. Only morality in our actions can give beauty and dignity to life.”

Wow! it is unfortunate to see adults as well as young adults getting involved in a wide variety of anti-social activities such as gambling, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, murder, theft, robbery, cheating etc. It is no secret that there is an increase in crime rates because of the degradation of moral values. As a result, we are not able to differentiate between right and wrong. Lest we not forget that childhood is the most valuable period which impacts the overall development of an individual’s personality. Some children adopted grasping power concepts which inculcate moral values in them to deal with difficult situations in life. and boost their self-confidence. Let it be known that children get highly influenced by the people around them. They imitate their parents’ behaviour and actions. So, the parent should be careful in every act of their behaviour. Parents should make sure that their actions are good enough to shape the life of their children, make them better citizens and make our society a better place.

Secondly, the parents are also depending on the instructors to play an important role in shaping their children's future. Beside academic lessons, they have the responsibility to teach them morals, ethics and discipline. However, it is so apparent that some learning institutions are preoccupied today with making themselves a manufacturing unit of good professionals, but they are failing to create a sense of morality in their students. In order to make the students good human beings, moral education plays a key role in developing their character and personality. Students who have good morals are likely to become good citizens.

Moral Lesson:
The foundation of our society are those students. Therefore, parents be attentive to what they are learning, be careful about the peers and friends they make. Also, involve them when performing religious activities, listen carefully to the ideas they put forth and wherever required, correct them, spend quality time with them, provide opportunities for them to help others, involve them in community services and give positive reinforcement (rewards) to them when they show good behaviour. It is also important to educate them to be disciplined and not to cheat while in class and on examination.

Let them be taught that there are no shortcuts in life and life is an examination where there is no syllabus. The only thing that can get through is a good character and speaking the truth at all times. Character defines a person, regardless of their profession, be it a scientist, an aeronautical engineer, a doctor, etc., if the character of a person is not good then he or she is worthless. In order to make our society a better place there is a dire need to impart morals. As Martin Luther King has truly said, “Education without morals is like a ship without a compass, merely wandering nowhere.”
