“Teaching Practice Stage II Workshop for Master Teachers as Examiners"
for the *Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education – Academic Year 2024/2025*.

📢 Department Research Publication

We are delighted to share that the academic staff of the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education, Faculty of Education, The Open University of Sri Lanka, have successfully published a collaborative research article in the international peer-reviewed journal Preschool Education: Global Trends (Vol. 9, 2026).

Title: An Analysis of Teaching–Learning Practices and Challenges in Model Preschools

This departmental research examined teaching–learning practices in three OUSL Supipi Model Preschools, identifying both strengths and challenges related to teacher planning, classroom practices, learning environments, record-keeping, and parent–teacher partnerships. The findings provide valuable recommendations for enhancing the quality of early childhood education and strengthening preschool teaching and learning practices in Sri Lanka.

This publication reflects our department's continued commitment to advancing research, promoting evidence-based educational practices, and contributing to the development of high-quality early childhood education.
