Wondering how to connect literacy with sensory activities?
Here is a sneak peek in to how you can adapt any picture book that is content heavy and aimed at older kids even with younger age groups!
I used 2-3 picture books on the ocean and it’s inhabitants including my own book Kal the adventurer- explorer of the ocean to initiate the activity.
We had a blast with this invitation to play where we had a range of age groups which included a 2 year old, a 2+ year old and a 4 year old.
They learnt names and characteristics of ocean dwellers as well as the opportunity to engage in a multi sensory activity exploring a variety of textures... we even had a chemistry experiment hidden in the activity right at the beginning!
