β¨ Ice Cream Dansala 2025 β A Sweet Success! β¨π¦
We were delighted to host our Ice Cream Dansala today in celebration of Poson Poya Day at the Galaha Junction, Peradeniya, spreading joy and cool treats to all who joined!
It was a beautiful reminder of compassion, generosity, and community spirit. The event was made even more special by the presence of Prof. Terrance Madhujith, Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, and Prof. Barana Jayawardana, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, whose participation added great warmth and inspiration to the day.

Launch of the "Food Front Talks" Monthly Series
The Department of Food Science & Technology proudly inaugurated its new monthly event series, Food Front Talks, with an engaging and insightful first session held at the department auditorium on Thursday, 22nd of May, 2025.
This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice by providing our undergraduate students with direct exposure to experienced professionals from the food industry. The goal is to enhance studentsβ understanding of current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field of food science and technology.
We were honored to commence this series with a keynote address by Professor Terrance Madhujith, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, whose valuable insights and guidance were inspiring and informative for our student community.
We were privileged to have the esteemed presence of Professor Ranjith Pallegama, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Barana Jayawardana, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Professor Chandrika Perera, HoD/Agriculture Biology, along with several members of the academic and non-academic staff of the faculty. Their participation added significant value and encouragement to this new initiative.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this inaugural session and look forward to continuing the conversation in the upcoming editions of Food Front Talks.
