🎉 Department of Food Science and Technology at Agri Taste 2026! 🌾🥗

The Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, is proud to have successfully participated in the Food Science and Technology Awareness Stall at Agri Taste 2026, organized by the Department of Agriculture on 3rd and 4th July 2026 at the Agriculture Complex, Gannoruwa. 🌿🍍🥥

The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity to showcase nutritious and innovative food products developed from Sri Lankan agricultural commodities while creating greater public awareness of the diverse opportunities and contributions of Food Science and Technology to society. 🇱🇰🍎

This initiative was coordinated through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Food Science and Technology, represented by Dr. Geeshani Somaratne, and the Society of Food Science and Technology, represented by its Senior Treasurer, Dr. Sumudu Warnakulasuriya. 🤝

👏 Student Leadership
The event was coordinated on behalf of the students by the 22nd BFST Batch, with Ms. Charuni Didulanthi and Mr. Sineru Gopendra serving as student coordinators. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment played a key role in the successful organization of the awareness stall.

💚 Students from the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th BFST batches enthusiastically contributed to planning, organizing, and conducting the awareness activities throughout the exhibition. Their teamwork, professionalism, and passion truly reflected the spirit of the Department.

🙏 We extend our sincere appreciation to all the students, academic and non-academic staff members, organizers, and everyone who visited and supported our stall. Your encouragement motivates us to continue advancing food science education, promoting innovation, and inspiring healthier and more sustainable food systems for the future. 🌱🔬🍽️

We were honored to host Mr. Mohamed Rushdi Hadhi, Director of Operations at Jobdaddy.lk, for an insightful session on "Crafting a Future-Ready Career in Food Science" on 21st July 2025 at the Department of Food Science & Technology Auditorium, University of Peradeniya.

✨ Ice Cream Dansala 2025 – A Sweet Success! ✨🍦

We were delighted to host our Ice Cream Dansala today in celebration of Poson Poya Day at the Galaha Junction, Peradeniya, spreading joy and cool treats to all who joined!

It was a beautiful reminder of compassion, generosity, and community spirit. The event was made even more special by the presence of Prof. Terrance Madhujith, Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, and Prof. Barana Jayawardana, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, whose participation added great warmth and inspiration to the day.
