A huge Thank you goes out to all the people who took their time to attend the cocktail fundraiser and the auction! We manage to raise funds and exceed our target with your generous donations that would better the lives of our brothers and sisters at Dharmarama Maha Vidyalaya & Glenanore Tamil Maha Vidyalam Haputale. As for the others who did not get the chance to attend the event, please contribute by following the link below. Your donation could provide a better education for the future leaders of Sri Lanka. Thank you!

Who are we?
We are a group of university students who have come together through an internship programme. We, as a group who have been privileged with the access of a university education, have come up with the initiative to improve the school lives of those who are even struggling to go through primary school.

Who are we helping?

We have identified two schools in a remote part of Sri Lanka (Uva Province): Glenanore College and Dharmarama College, which were devastated in the 2014 landslides in the area. Both of these schools are filled with young, determined and enthusiastic students just a few years younger than us. These students have been forced to dream small because of their unfortunate circumstances. It was never their fault.

We named our initiative The Briefcase Project, to show these children that there are individuals who have achieved their dreams and are willing to support these children with their dreams.

Why these schools?
Because of the determination of the students and the teachers in these schools. They sometimes even go to school on the weekends, to ensure a life away from poverty for themselves and their families. They deserve the same chance that we were fortunate of having.

What they lack?
Located in a province that has to endure long periods of drought, the schools lack access to a constant access of water supply. Furthermore, the schools also lack basic sanitation; in one of the schools 150 girls share ONE washroom. In addition, living in the tech age, these schools have very limited access to computers.

More importantly, they lack the will to dream big, because they feel unsupported and incapable.

What are we doing?
We strongly believe that if we join hands, we can build them a sustainable school environment that would help them dream big. They are more than capable. All they need is the right kind of support, which we can give.

Alongside the crowdfunding, we are organising fundraisers in Sri Lanka towards this project.

What can YOU do?
You can join our project with a donation and every single donation will go towards helping these children widen their horizons and dream big. Your money will go solely towards building the basic requirements of the school which they are currently lacking (Basic sanitation and water facilities).

Please Join The Case. You will make a difference in these children's lives.
