අපේ රටේ පරිසර පද්ධතියේ සුවිශේෂී කරුණු කිහිපයක්:

📍 දේශගුණික කලාප: කුඩා රටක් වුණත් තෙත්, වියළි සහ අතරමැදි කලාප නිසා අපිට විවිධ පරිසර පද්ධති රැසක් උරුම වෙලා තියෙනවා.

🌴 වනාන්තර: සිංහරාජයේ නිවර්තන වැසි වනාන්තරවල සිට හෝර්ටන් තැන්න වැනි කඳුකර වනාන්තර දක්වා විහිදෙන අපූර්වත්වය!

🦜 ආවේණිකත්වය (Endemism): ලෝකයේ වෙන කොහේවත් නැති, ලංකාවටම ආවේණික සත්ව හා ශාක විශේෂ දහස් ගණනක් අපේ රටේ ඉන්නවා. (විශේෂයෙන් මිරිදිය මත්ස්‍යයන් සහ උභයජීවීන් අතර මේක වැඩියි!)

🌎 What is Biodiversity?
Biodiversity is the incredible variety of living organisms found on Earth—from microscopic bacteria to giant trees and animals. It reflects the richness of life and the complex interactions that sustain ecosystems.

✨ Levels of Biodiversity:

සසර ගමන කෙටි වෙවා මැණිකා! 🙏

𝑜𝑙𝑒𝑢𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑘𝑔𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑠 (Lamiaceae), ශ්‍රී ලංකාවෙන් නව ශාක විශේෂයක්

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ මධ්‍යම කඳුකරය ආශ්‍රිතව Lamiaceae ශාක කුලයට අයත් , 𝐶𝑜𝑙𝑒𝑢𝑠 ශාක ගණයේ නව ශාක විශේෂයක් සොයා ගැනීමට අපගේ පර්යේෂණ කණ්ඩායම වන සුමේධා අබේසේකර, ඕ. එම්. කසුනිකා, නිශාන්ති හළුවන සහ නදුන් නිලංක විසින් සමත් විය. 2024 පෙබරවාරි මස ජාතික උද්භිද උද්‍යාන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ (DNBG) ජාතික ශාකාගාරය විසින්, ජාතික ශාක ගවේෂණ වැඩසටහන යටතේ මෙහෙයවනු ලැබූ නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ හක්ගල ප්‍රදේශයේ උද්භිද විද්‍යාත්මක ගවේෂණයකදී මෙම සොයා ගැනීම සිදු කරන ලදී. 2013 වසරේ සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන ජාතික ශාක ගවේෂණ වැඩසටහන යටතේ ජාතික ශාකාගාර කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින්ම විස්තර කරන ලද ශාක විශේෂයක් ලෙස මෙය ඉතිහාසයට එක් වේ. පසුගිය වසර පුරාවට ශාකාගාරයේ සහකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ ලෙස මෙම පර්යේෂණ කණ්ඩායම අධීක්ෂණය කිරීමට ලැබීමත් ,කණ්ඩායමේ සාමාජිකයෙකු වීමත් මට මහත් ගෞරවයක් වන අතර මගේ කණ්ඩායමට හෘදයාංගම සුබ පැතුම් පිරිනමමි.
ඒ අනුව නව ශාක විශේෂය උද්භිද විද්‍යාත්මකව මෙසේ නම් කරයි.
𝐶𝑜𝑙𝑒𝑢𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑘𝑔𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑠 Abeysekara, Kasunika, Haluwana & Nilanka 𝑠𝑝. 𝑛𝑜𝑣. මෙම සොයා ගැනීම අද, ඔක්තෝබර් 30 වන දින, ශාක වර්ගීකරණය විද්‍යාව පිළිබඳ ප්‍රධානතම ජාත්‍යන්තර සඟරාවලින් එකක් වන Phytotaxa සඟරාවේ ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කර ඇත. 2013 වසරේ සිට ශාක ගවේෂණ වැඩසටහන ආරම්භ කල ශාකාගාරයේ නියෝජ්‍ය අධ්‍යක්ෂ ආචාර්ය සුභානි රණසිංහ මහත්මියටත් DNBG හි සියලුම කාර්ය මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයින්ටත්, ශාක ගවේෂණය සදහා රක්ෂිතයට පිවිසීමට අවසර ලබාදුන් වනජීවී සංරක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවටත්, කෘතඥතාවය පුද කරන්නෙමු.

නාසා චන්ද්‍රිකා දත්ත මගින් පෘථිවි මහාද්වීප පුරා භයානක ජල හානියක් අනාවරණය වී ඇති අතර, විද්‍යාඥයින් මෙම සංසිද්ධිය "මහා වියළීම" ලෙස හඳුන්වනවා.. මෙම ප්‍රවණතාවය දේශගුණික විපර්යාස වේගවත් කරන අතරෙම කලාප අස්ථාවර කිරීමද සිදු කරනවා.ගෝලීය ජනගහනයෙන් 75% ක් දැනටමත් මිරිදිය ජල පරිහානියෙන් පීඩාවට පත්ව තිබෙනවා. වියළි ප්‍රදේශ වේගයෙන් වියළී යන අතර, අයිස් තට්ටු දියවෙමින් මුහුදු මට්ටම ඉහළ යාමද සිදුවෙනවා..

මෙයින් යුරෝපය, මැදපෙරදිග, උතුරු අප්‍රිකාව සහ ආසියාව දරුණුතම බලපෑමට ලක්ව තිබෙනවා.ඒ නිසා අනාගතයේ භූමියට අමතරව ජලය වෙනුවෙන්ද ප්‍රාදේශීය වශයෙන් සහ රටවල් අතර ගැටුම් පවා ඇති වෙන අවධානමක් තියෙනවා. එනිසා සම්පත් ආරක්ෂා කිරීම සහ දරුණු පාරිසරික හා සමාජීය ප්‍රතිවිපාක වළක්වා ගනිමින් භූගත ජල කළමනාකරණය හොඳින් සිදුකරන ලෙස පර්යේෂකයන් ඉල්ලා සිටිනවා.
