In February, our little explorers from Zenith Pre-school took a trip to the local fair to dive into the vibrant world of buying, selling, and community spirit!
It wasn't just a field trip; it was a sensory journey of discovery. Some of our observations that we noticed through our children:
1.Become Mini-Entrepreneurs: They observed the art of trade, learning how vendors display their goods and how buying and selling works in the real world.
2.Explore Nature’s Bounty: From naming vibrant vegetables to discovering exotic fruits, they saw firsthand where our food comes from.
3.Investigate Materials: They touched and explored products made from wood, fabric, and clay, learning about the different textures and materials that make up our world.
4.Taste the Joy: They explored a variety of local foods, understanding how different ingredients come together to create delicious treats.
At Zenith, we believe that some of the best lessons happen outside the four walls of a classroom. Seeing the children engage with the vendors and ask curious questions about the world around them was truly the highlight of our week!

Our classroom felt like a little indoor garden today as we explored Flowers and Leaves Day. It was so quiet and peaceful watching the children really look at all the natural treasures they found.
They spent the morning tracing the veins in different leaves, feeling the fuzzy texture of stems, and testing which petals were strong and which were delicate. The highlight was definitely the magic of "nature paint" as they discovered how to press and rub the flowers to see what colors they could make on their paper.
After we spent some time decorating our classroom tree with our favorite finds, we sat together and just talked. It was so sweet to hear the children describe the specific flowers growing in their own gardens at home and share those little pieces of their world with their friends.
Does your child have a favorite flower or a special leaf they always stop to pick up on your walks? We would love to hear about it.

We had so much energy in the room today for Zumba day. The children had a blast getting their heart rates up and moving their bodies.
It was more than just a workout; it was a morning full of aerobics, fun exercises, and just letting loose. There were a lot of big smiles and tired legs by the end of it. It is always a joy to watch them build their coordination and confidence while having such a good time together.
A huge thank you to Kaushalya Herath for bringing so much energy to our classroom and for making all of us teachers and students alike get up, move, and smile. Your enthusiasm is contagious and we are so grateful for the way you make staying active such a highlight of our day.

Our classroom was smelling amazing today for Fruit Day. The kids spent the morning getting creative, we saw everything from giant watermelons to tiny purple grapes!, and then the real magic happened.
Everyone brought in their favourite fruits from home to share with the group. It was so heart-melting to watch them proudly offer a slice of apple or a handful of berries to their friends. There’s something so special about a snack that’s built on sharing!
A huge thank you to all the parents for helping out! Our bellies and our hearts are very full.
Tell us in the comments: what’s the one fruit your little one can’t live without?

We brought out the clay and some coconut shells this morning and just let the kids go to town. It was so cool to see them figure out how to use the shells as scoops, molds, or even little "houses" for their clay creations.
There’s something so grounding about kids working with natural materials and honestly, who doesn't love a good excuse to get a little muddy? My favorite part was watching them discover that the shells make perfect patterns when you press them into the clay.
The classroom was quiet with focus one minute and full of "look at this!" the next. Such a great day.
Check out some of the masterpieces from our little artists!
Today, our Zenith Pre-school was filled with love, unity, and harmony as we honored Sri Lanka’s 78th Independence Day. Our little learners spent the day discovering the meaning behind our National Flag, exploring the map of our island home, and learning about the diverse people who make our motherland so special.
The highlight of our day? A vibrant parade where we marched with pride, watching our flags fly high! We are raising the next generation to love and cherish the most beautiful island on Earth.
